Sefa seizes goods valued at over R$ 139 thousand in Cachoeira do Piriá
Notebooks, radios, backpacks, suitcases, pens, and thermos bottles were in the vehicle that left Salvador heading to Belém
At the Coordination of Goods in Transit Control of Gurupi, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará, bordering Maranhão, state tax inspectors seized, this Friday (28), various goods valued at R$ 139,805.95. The cargo was being transported with an irregular invoice.
“A vehicle coming from Salvador (BA), heading to Belém (PA) was detained during the inspection. After the inspection began and the tax documents were presented, the officials suspected the veracity of the information contained in the invoice, which listed an individual as the recipient. However, the quantity of goods transported indicated a commercial intent, which requires tax collection,” explained coordinator Gustavo Bozola.
During the verification and physical check of the cargo, nine notebooks, seven radios, 400 backpacks, 18 suitcases, 1,200 pens, 400 thermos bottles, 1,030 t-shirts, and other items were found. A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, amounting to R$ 37,188.38, regarding the tax and fine collection.
Sefa has eight border units for the control of goods in transit. In addition to inspecting the entry and exit regions of the goods, there is a unit for inspecting ports and airports.
