State prepares to host the gospel festival "Vem Louvar Pará"
Two days of music, faith, and free activities at Mangueirão attract caravans from all regions and strengthen the local Christian identity
The nurse and Christian musician Márcio Sérgio Ribeiro recalls how music and the great faith gatherings of the 90s marked his youth and helped shape both his artistic journey and family formation. “I was entering as a young person, a teenager in the church, when I started participating in the events. I really aspired to work in this gospel segment as a musician. This marked my life, my family. I met my wife during this period,” he recalls.
Now, he is preparing to take his wife, son, relatives, and friends to the "Vem Louvar Pará," an unprecedented gospel festival promoted by the state government, on December 4 and 5, in the parking lot of the Mangueirão Stadium in Belém, with free admission.
“This will bring back great memories. My expectations are the best possible. This will certainly revive what we lived years ago and will put Pará back on the grand circuit of Christian music. Our hearts are burning with joy for this event. I believe everything is already set, and it will bring many benefits to our spiritual lives,” says Márcio.
Structure - During a visit to the event site, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan oversaw the setup of the stage that will host major names in national gospel music. The festival will also feature a food court, activities, and a welcoming structure for the public. The program is expected to attract caravans from various regions of the state.
“The structure is already being set up, and in a few days there will be faith, music, joy, and thousands of voices gathered to praise. The 'Vem Louvar Pará' has arrived to show that our culture is also made of spirituality, unity, and hope. We are preparing every detail. Form your caravan and come participate in this very special gathering. It will be beautiful!” emphasizes the Vice Governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan.
Program - On December 4, Aline Barros, Isadora Pompeo, and Maria Marçal will perform. On December 5, Fernandinho, Thalles Roberto, and Jefferson & Suellem will take the stage. The start of the performances on both days is scheduled for 7 PM.
For the government, the festival is part of the strategy to keep the cultural agenda active after COP30, strengthening various artistic languages and expanding the population's access to this type of initiative. The Deputy Secretary of Culture, Bruno Chagas, emphasizes that gospel music is an essential part of Pará's identity, present in the historical formation and faith practices of millions of Pará residents.
“Gospel culture is one of the languages that make up the structural body of the cultural languages of Brazil, and strengthening this part of the culture is one of the missions of the Secretary of Culture. We are coming from great events. The state has been going through moments of great prominence and even more so, the appreciation of our culture, which has been gaining the world, so looking at the various actors and the prominence of culture is essential for the democratization of public cultural policy in Pará,” highlights Bruno Chagas.
Mobilized Churches - With two days of free programming, the "Vem Louvar Pará" festival is seen as an opportunity for collective celebration, which awakens strong expectations throughout the Christian community in Pará.
One of the event organizers, Pastor Lourival Pereira, states that mobilization is already taking over the churches and that caravans are being formed in various regions.
“The evangelical community is buzzing. It is a mega event organized by the state government, with a structure worthy of the great festivals. The expectation is huge, and so is the joy. It will be a milestone of unity, faith, and gratitude. The promotion is intense, and we have very high expectations. The youth are organizing, pastors are supporting, denominations are united so that together we can be there in the parking lot of Mangueirão, celebrating, exalting, and worshiping the Lord of our lives, who is the Lord Jesus Christ. When we mobilize, we unite, we show the strength, the unity that the people of God have in Pará and Brazil,” he emphasizes.
