Pará leads formal job creation in the North Region with over 49 thousand vacancies
The number of jobs generated is relative to the period from January to October 2025. In the national ranking, Pará occupies the 13th position.
A survey released by the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese), in partnership with the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), this Thursday (27), shows that in October there was a positive balance in the generation of formal jobs, with 45,127 admissions and 42,999 dismissals, generating a balance of 2,128 job positions.
With the positive result recorded in October, the balance from January to October showed 447,273 admissions and 398,230 dismissals, generating a positive balance of 49,043 formal job positions. In the same period of 2024, the balance was 49,454, confirming stability in this area.
Sectors - According to the analyses, in October, most of the macroeconomic sectors of activities in Pará showed growth in formal jobs, with a highlight for the Services sector, with a positive balance of 2,378 job positions, followed by Industry, with a positive balance of 1,266 job positions, and Commerce, whose positive balance was 927 positions.
In the period from January to October, the study highlights that most macroeconomic sectors of activities recorded growth in the generation of formal jobs, mainly in the Services sector, with a positive balance of 24,519 job positions, followed by Commerce, with a positive balance of 11,353 positions; Industry, with a positive balance of 9,671 job positions; Construction, with 5,040 job positions; and unidentified sectors, with a positive balance of 14 positions. In the same analyzed period, there was a loss of job positions in Agriculture, whose negative balance was 1,554 positions.
National ranking - From January to October of this year, all states that make up the North Region showed growth in formal jobs in the comparison between admissions and dismissals, with a highlight for the State of Pará, which accounts for more than 40% of the jobs generated.
With this percentage, Pará continues to have the highest formal employment rate in the North Region, occupying the 13th position in the national ranking, ahead of Piauí, Amazonas, Mato Grosso do Sul, Espírito Santo, and Maranhão.
“We work to ensure our population's access to the job market, with more investments in professional qualification and partnerships with companies that guarantee new opportunities, boosting job and income generation throughout Pará. In addition to carrying out continuous actions such as job fairs in various municipalities and free courses,” highlighted Inocencio Gasparim, head of Seaster.
Balance - Based on the study released, if Pará continues with around 40 thousand admissions, by the end of 2025, it should reach around 500 thousand admissions, a number greater than the total recorded last year, when it reached around 450 thousand admissions. In Pará, from November 2024 to October 2025, more than 513 thousand workers were formally hired.
For 2025, the expectation is to close the year with stability and balance in the generation of formal employment. As observed in October, some sectors, such as Services and Commerce, may keep the job market heated in Pará with the year-end festivities.
