Codec promotes Investment and Business Attraction Course for Redenção servers
Training reinforces integration between departments, economic planning, and institutional preparation to receive new enterprises
The Government of Pará, through the Economic Development Company (Codec), promoted the introductory stage of the Investment and Business Attraction Course for servers of the City Hall of Redenção, a municipality in the southern region. The training opened a cycle of technical preparation aimed at strengthening public management and creating a favorable environment for new enterprises.
The activity presented the fundamentals that guide Codec's methodology in supporting investors, addressing territorial competitiveness, institutional qualification, essential infrastructure, interdepartmental coordination, and factors that influence business decisions. Participants discussed long-term planning, data organization, economic portfolio, active prospecting, and investor support.
During the practical stage, the servers analyzed a numerical matrix that highlighted priorities for the municipality's development. Education emerged as the main driving force, followed by the quality of local commerce and services. Among the vulnerabilities, infrastructure was identified as the biggest challenge, along with the need to expand incentives for the installation of more industries.
Participants also pointed out opportunities in still underexplored sectors, such as waste and health, in addition to alerting to threats related to the lack of inputs and logistics issues. The synthesis of these perceptions will guide the next stages of planning.
Importance of planning - Opening the meeting, the municipal secretary of Economic Development of Redenção, Gilmário Fontenelle, stated that the municipality is entering an important and decisive stage for its strategic structuring. “We are starting an important cycle to structure Redenção in a modern, efficient way, and prepared to compete for investments. This process, which we are building in partnership with the state government through Codec, is essential for qualifying municipal management and expanding our capacity to engage with companies and turn opportunities into concrete results,” said the secretary.
Regarding the presence of representatives from the departments that make up the Economic Development Council in the training activity offered by Codec, Gilmário Fontenelle informed that “we gathered here the departments that are part of the Council because you have a decisive role in this process. It is not just about overseeing, but building with us the planning that will guide the municipality's development for the coming years. We need a consistent work plan capable of projecting Redenção into the future.”
The secretary emphasized that the training helps strengthen the internal technical base of the City Hall. “Our challenge is to organize information, align the departments, and prepare Redenção to advance with more security, efficiency, and competitiveness,” he stressed.
Economic analysis and support for the municipality - The advisor of the Strategy and Institutional Relations Directorate of Codec, Evandro Diniz, highlighted the economic strength of the municipality and the need to strengthen institutional coordination. “The economic potential of Redenção is very large. In 2024, the municipality exported nearly 800 million dollars, with over 30% destined for China. This connection reveals the strategic importance of the region,” he informed.
According to him, joint action will bring more solid results. “Integrated work is essential to consolidate opportunities and strengthen the municipality's development capacity,” said Evandro Diniz.
The manager of Development and Economic Studies at Codec, Aline Tavares, stated that the training marks the beginning of a journey of institutional strengthening, highlighting that “our role is to support the City Hall, organize strategic information, and help the municipality be technically ready to engage with investors.”
Integration - The training brought together servers from different areas of the municipal administration, reinforcing the integration between departments. For Cainan Valadares Chaves, a veterinarian from the Department of Agriculture, the activity highlighted structural priorities. “After this stage, it is evident that Redenção needs to improve infrastructure and strengthen public safety.”
Server José Lúcio da Mota, from the Municipal Department of Economic Development, emphasized the importance of collective work. According to him, “the most relevant thing is the joint effort of all departments and the identification of demands and opportunities. This articulated diagnosis helps Redenção advance with more organization.”
Next steps - Now, the application of the second stage of the training program will be scheduled, to be conducted by the Directorate of Investment and Business Attraction, which will represent an intensive training lasting an average of three days, deepening the contents of the initial phase through applied studies, practical activities, and joint strategy building to position the municipality as a competitive destination.
The stage held on the morning of this Wednesday at the Municipal Department of Economic Development established the technical foundation for the continuity of the program, reinforcing the commitment of the Government of Pará, through Codec, to economic growth and sustainable transformation of the south and southeast of the State.
