The Military Police of Pará held, this Tuesday (25), at the auditorium of the General Command, the ceremony commemorating Prostate Cancer Awareness Day, a milestone of the Blue November campaign. The event brought together officers, enlisted personnel, and guests for a program dedicated to promoting men's health, focusing on self-care, prevention, and early diagnosis of the disease that affects one in eight men throughout their lives, according to the Brazilian Society of Urology.

The official opening of the ceremony was conducted by Colonel QOPM Luís Marcelo Bilóia da Silva, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of PMPA. The program included a moment of reflection with the Military Chaplaincy, the execution of the State Anthem and the PM Song, as well as the start of a series of technical lectures with professionals from the corporation itself.

Speakers included Captain Marcus Vinícius Costa da Silveira (Physical Education), Lieutenant Colonel Cleybismar Begot (Urology), and Lieutenant Colonel Iuri Aguiar de Melo (Psychology), who addressed topics related to prevention, physical care, emotional aspects, and comprehensive health attention for military police officers.

During the ceremony, the speakers received certificates and honors, reinforcing the institutional commitment to educational actions aimed at the well-being of the personnel. The initiative is part of the corporation's health calendar, which throughout the year conducts campaigns, services, consultations, and activities aimed at improving the quality of life of the troops.

Second Sergeant of the PM, Hilário Alves, participated in the program and congratulated the initiative. “It is very important for the corporation to promote this type of program, talking about men's health, which is usually a taboo, helps us understand the importance of taking care of our health,” highlighted the sergeant.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the PM, Colonel Luís Marcelo, highlighted the relevance of the campaign for the troops and the institution's role in encouraging preventive care. “Blue November is more than a symbolic date for us. It is a call to responsibility and self-care. Taking care of health is an act of courage, especially for the military police officer, who faces stressful and risky situations daily. Our corporation has the duty to encourage and ensure that every man here has access to information, prevention, and support,” he stated.
