With the aim of implementing control instruments for public procurement, the Secretary of Finance (Sefa) and the State General Comptroller (CGE-PA) formalized the signing of the Technical Cooperation Agreement this Thursday (20), during the official program of the Pará Municipal Pavilion at the Centenário Convention Center in Belém.

On this occasion, representatives from Sefa and CGE-PA emphasized the relevance of the initiative, which will initially be implemented within the state treasury agency, ensuring more efficient, transparent public management aligned with good governance practices.

The Secretary of Finance, René Sousa Júnior, highlighted the importance of expanding controls over public procurement: “Sefa is finalizing a purchasing plan and with the State General Comptroller we will open all data so that the control agency can monitor the execution of these procurements. We will have the assistance of CGE-PA while the process is being carried out, not after it is completed. Since the State of Pará is very large, Sefa will conduct the pilot project, and then, with the consolidated experience, we want this to spread throughout the entire State,” he said.

The Sefa representative also explained that the agency will be responsible for planning and executing related to the control instruments for public procurement, in addition to incorporating the methodologies and good practices guided by the State General Comptroller.

According to the State General Comptroller, Ozório Juvenil, the technical cooperation established between Sefa and CGE-PA represents a reinforcement of the institutions' commitment to the continuous improvement of state public management. “With the implementation of control instruments for public contracts within the Secretary of Finance, we consolidate solid governance practices, strengthen integrity, and also increase society's trust by ensuring the correct application of public resources,” he emphasized.
