Sefa seizes 19 tons of explosives and 266 cattle in inspection operations in Pará
Actions took place in Baixo Amazonas, Araguaia, and northeastern Pará, resulting in fines totaling over R$ 226 thousand in taxes and penalties
Inspection by the State Department of Finance of Pará (Sefa) resulted, on November 14, in the seizure of 266 cattle and 19 tons of explosives, in operations carried out in the municipalities of Alenquer, Santana do Araguaia, and Cachoeira do Piriá. The actions reinforce the control of the movement of goods in the State and the fight against tax evasion.
In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Sefa in Tapajós, 266 cattle valued at R$ 807,267.90 were seized. The action took place on the Amazon River, during an approach to two vessels that left Alenquer heading to Faro, Terra Santa, and Parintins (AM), according to the Animal Transit Guide (GTA).
According to coordinator Roberto Mota, the operation had the support of the team from the Regional Coordination of Sefa in Santarém.
“The cargo had been monitored in advance. The analysis of the documents showed that the transport was done only with the GTA, without the issuance of an invoice to cover the operation. When questioned, the crew informed that the unloading would take place at a slaughterhouse in the state of Amazonas,” he explained.
Six Terms of Seizure and Deposit (TADs) were drawn up, totaling R$ 135,621.01 in taxes and fines.
19 tons of explosives seized in southern Pará
At the Barreira do Campo tax post, in Santana do Araguaia, inspectors from the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Araguaia seized 19 tons of explosive material, valued at R$ 223,678.51.
According to coordinator Renato Couto, the driver presented invoices related to the transport of explosives, such as ammonium nitrate, originating from Palmas (TO) and destined for a non-taxpayer company in Santana do Araguaia.
“During the analysis of the tax documents, it was found that the Differential ICMS Rate (Difal) had not been collected for the State of Pará,” he stated.
The team drew up a TAD in the amount of R$ 42,526.54.
Cachoeira do Piriá: load of shelves seized due to tax discrepancy
In the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in Cachoeira do Piriá, 1,200 plastic shelves were seized, transported with divergent tax documentation. The vehicle had left Horizonte (CE) destined for a company in Ananindeua.
According to coordinator Gustavo Bozola, the invoice declared the transport of polypropylene sheets, but the checked load consisted of shelves ready for sale.
“The discrepancy between the declared description and the transported product characterizes an infraction and led to the seizure of the goods,” he explained.
The load was valued at R$ 142,800.00, and the drawn-up TAD totaled R$ 48,837.60.
