Pará-Municipal Pavilion promotes cultural and technical programs at COP30 in Belém
Shows, lectures, courses, and cooking shows are among the attractions with the presence of the municipal administration from various cities in the state
The Government of Pará launched an initiative that ensures the presence of the municipalities of the state at the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which takes place in Belém. The Pará-Municipal Pavilion, located at the Centenário Convention Center in the state capital, was created exclusively for municipal administrations to present their actions on sustainability, culture, and innovation, as well as to seek international partnerships.
The space will operate from November 17 to 21, with standardized booths for each city, as well as areas designated for discussion circles, a food court, and a stage for cultural activities. The structure was planned to insert the municipalities of Pará into the global sustainability agenda, encouraging the exchange of experiences and the articulation of partnerships.
The Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, coordinator of the State Committee for COP30, highlighted the relevance of the initiative. “This is a historic moment and a unique opportunity for the world to know the reality and potential of each of our twelve integration regions. The pavilion will be the place where municipalities will be represented, showing the whole world their strength in culture, bioeconomy, and tourism,” she stated. According to her, the space strengthens Pará's role as a protagonist in the climate agenda and expands opportunities for sustainable development throughout the state territory.
The mayor of Castanhal, Hélio Leite, expressed a feeling of hope and responsibility regarding the conference. For him, the event represents a "call to action" that goes beyond a meeting of leaders, encouraging reflection on production methods, consumption, and care for the planet. Leite reaffirmed Castanhal's commitment to sustainable development and initiatives that promote quality of life and a better future for all, wishing that the conference becomes a true "milestone of transformation."
