Pará's livestock sector advances with new adherence to the Sustainable Traceability Program
The productive sector approves and adheres to the Individual Traceability System for Cattle and Buffaloes of Pará
Following the direction of adherence to the Sustainable Livestock and Individual Traceability System for Cattle and Buffaloes of Pará (SRBIPA), the slaughterhouse FriGol joined the Government of Pará in the commitment to sustainability and traceability implemented by the State.
The State Government spares no effort to ensure the sanitary safety of the herd, providing support and contributing to the private initiative for a more efficient, solid, and sustainable management, with land regularization and technological innovation.
“The entry of this slaughterhouse reinforces that sustainability is a one-way street. The adherence of companies of this size strengthens the sector and shows that Pará is prepared to meet the demands of national and international markets,” highlighted the Secretary of State for Environment, Climate, and Sustainability, Raul Protázio Romão.
In line with the Secretary, Carlos Corrêa, financial director and sustainability of FriGol, spoke about the partnership with the Government of Pará. “FriGol has been working in alignment with the Government of Pará, which has stood out in a pioneering way by establishing the Sustainable Livestock Program of Pará and creating the Official Individual Traceability System for Cattle and Buffaloes of Pará – the SRBIPA. This partnership with the State reinforces our commitment to traceability and the sustainable development of Amazonian livestock,” he said.
Traceability and transparency in the field – the integration between the two programs accelerated the implementation of individual identification tags in the herd, leading the initiative to surpass the mark of 270 thousand units applied even before the entry into force of the first phase of the new law, on January 1, 2026, which will require the registration of animals with each movement. The result consolidates a milestone for the sector, demonstrating the reach and advancement of the Sustainable Livestock Program throughout Pará.
Initiatives and purposes – the adherence process transforms the vision of breeders and ranchers, with clear signs of this transformation being seen in the development of revolutionary initiatives in the private sector, such as FriGol and the newly launched program titled “FriGol Farm.”
“In this context, we launched the FriGol Farm program in October, an initiative aimed at supporting ranchers in monitoring their suppliers, in individual traceability, as well as providing support for environmental requalification and land regularization. At the launch, we held two events, in São Félix do Xingu and in Xinguara (a city near our Água Azul do Norte unit). We had a significant presence of ranchers of various sizes, and at this moment, the adherence to the program is taking place. At FriGol, sustainability is at the center of our business strategy — it guides our decisions and directs the future we want to build: a future where producing responsibly and preserving go hand in hand,” explained Carlos Corrêa.
Following the growing discussion on sustainability, climate, and the environment, Pará's pioneering spirit shows progress in the implementation and establishment of systems that boost the rural economy, strengthening the market, livestock, the entire production chain, in addition to ensuring producers a continuity in the commercialization of these products. Integration that occurs by making the economy stable and preserving the environment.
