Metropolitano Hospital team mobilized employees and the general public for blood donation to the hospital network

The Metropolitan Emergency and Urgency Hospital (HMUE), in Ananindeua, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém (RMB), held a new blood donation campaign on Thursday afternoon (6), encouraging donations among the unit's collaborators. The action involved the participation of 26 volunteers, a number that represents a direct positive impact on the assistance to more than 100 patients, considering that each blood bag can benefit up to four people.

The result reinforces the importance of continuous mobilization and partnership between institutions to maintain blood stocks at safe levels and ensure care for those who need it most.

“The blood donation caravan of the Metropolitan Hospital is an action that saves lives and reinforces the power of solidarity. Every month, hundreds of patients depend on the transfusions performed at the hospital, and each donation can help up to four people. More than a gesture of generosity, donating blood is an act of love, citizenship, and responsibility towards others. When the community comes together for the sake of life, we show that together we are stronger,” highlighted Fabrício Lopes, biomedical and supervisor of the Transfusion Agency of HMUE.

The initiative aimed to strengthen the blood stocks of the state hospital network and raise awareness about the importance of this gesture of solidarity.

Hemopa Foundation provided a mobile unit to facilitate donations from the hospital community of the Metropolitan Hospital

The action was promoted in partnership with the Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation of Pará (Hemopa), which provided a minibus for transporting volunteers to the collection point. The structure facilitated the participation of collaborators and ensured more comfort and agility during the donation process.

With more than 200 transfusions performed monthly, the hospital is a reference in treating victims of severe trauma and directly depends on the constant supply of blood components.
