Donating blood is a simple yet transformative gesture: a single bag can save up to four lives. Inspired by this reality, the servers of the Institute of Assistance to the Health of State Servers of Pará (Iasep) embraced the Citizen Institution Gincana, promoted by the Foundation Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology of Pará (Hemopa) with the aim of encouraging donations among state agency workers.

The president of Iasep, Josynélia Tavares Raiol, emphasizes the impact of the action: “We have an unwavering commitment to health, through this campaign, we reaffirm our pact with society as a whole.”

Marco Vasconcelos, coordinator of the Institute, shares his personal experience: “I donated for the first time 10 years ago and resumed in the last three years thanks to Iasep's encouragement. This initiative awakens fundamental values of care and awareness, showing that helping others is essential. Public servants already serve society in their daily lives, and donating blood is another powerful way to amplify that impact.”

Iasep reaffirms its commitment to society and invites all state servers and collaborators to join the cause. To donate, simply go to the nearest Hemopa and meet the basic eligibility criteria:

- Be between 16 and 69 years old;
- Weigh at least 50 kg;
- Be in good health;
- Not have had hepatitis after the age of 11;
- Not have transmissible blood diseases;
- Not use illegal injectable drugs;
- If you have had Covid-19, be asymptomatic for at least 30 days.

On the day of donation, the volunteer must be well-rested, well-fed, without alcohol consumption in the 12 hours prior, and have an original photo ID. Minors under 18 need authorization and supervision from a legal guardian. Remember: men can donate up to four times a year, with a minimum interval of 60 days; women, up to three times, with an interval of 90 days.

Join us and make a difference! Your donation could be the link that saves lives. For more information, visit the Hemopa website.
