The Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) received, on this Tuesday (4), the company WBL-NKN Distribution and Transport of Bitumen Ltda, established in the Industrial District of Ananindeua since the 1980s and a regional reference in asphalt manufacturing. During the meeting, the company confirmed its decision to expand its operations in the State, with the future acquisition of a new lot for industrial expansion.

A 10,000 square meter area was presented in the Ananindeua District, located at the back of the area where the company already owns land. The area was offered as a strategic alternative for the expansion of the industrial plant and accepted, allowing Codec to begin the administrative and technical procedures, with formalization scheduled for January.

The company was represented by businessman Washington Barbosa, in a meeting led by Codec's Director of Investment Attraction, Manoel Ibiapina. The meeting also included the presence of the technical director, Rui Klautau, and the manager of Investment Attraction and New Business, Sabrina Sena, responsible for investor support and guidance on the next steps of the process.

“The expansion of a company that has been established for more than four decades in Pará demonstrates confidence in the business environment and in the State's industrial policy. Our job is to ensure adequate infrastructure and technical support so that companies can grow, generate jobs, and strengthen the Pará economy,” said Manoel Ibiapina.

The expansion reinforces the strategy of the government of Pará to value already established companies, stimulate new productive cycles, and strengthen the Industrial Districts as structuring development poles. With the support of Codec, the project will contribute to increasing production capacity, generating new jobs and income, and reaffirming Ananindeua as an important industrial hub of the State.
