Semas promotes the 10th Fair of Family Agriculture and Women's Entrepreneurship
The event brought a variety of products to the headquarters of the Secretariat, from food to fashion accessories, originating from municipalities in the Metropolitan Region of Belém and northeastern Pará.
The State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) held the 10th Fair of Family Agriculture and Women's Entrepreneurship on Thursday (30). The Fair offers residents near the Semas headquarters and employees products from municipalities close to Belém.
Producer Jorge Rodrigues came from the municipality of Mãe do Rio, northeastern Pará, to the capital to sell cheese, free-range chicken, butter, curd, eggs, coconut water, açaí, milk, and other products at affordable prices. Semas employee Kathleen Juca attended the Fair for the first time and said she really liked the work of the producers. “I am interested in buying cheese, which was presented at the tasting and was totally approved,” she informed.
Aline Rocha sold hot sauce, syrups, garlic, andiroba, grape seed oil, and other products from the municipalities of Ananindeua and Marituba, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. “My products are available for customers to choose what I bring for sale, which has been very good,” she assured.
Variety and Tradition - Resident of Santa Izabel do Pará, also in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, Léa Gomes brought pupunha, passion fruit, mango, and avocado to the Fair. “Sales are good,” she added. From the municipality of Bragança, in northeastern Pará, came traditional manioc flour, honey bread, and shrimp.
From Belém, including the district of Icoaraci, producers sold handmade cosmetics, such as cupuaçu soap, bacuri, andiroba, and Brazil nut soap, as well as intimate soaps.
Women entrepreneurs participated in the Fair, offering handmade chocolates with whole nuts, coffee, coconut, handmade paper from banana fiber, jute art, seeds, bracelets, necklaces, bags, rings, and earrings.
The manager of Environmental Education Programs and Projects at Semas, Gustavo Peres, said that the program is carefully analyzed to please the employees and visitors of the Fair, with good products and prices that catch attention. “The next Fair is already confirmed for this month of November,” revealed the coordinator of the Fair of Family Agriculture and Women's Entrepreneurship.
