The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), conducted training for 122 agents of the Public Security System (Sieds) and the protection network for vulnerable groups from October 27 to 30, with support from the Directorate of Public Policies and Social Prevention (DPS), in the municipalities of Igarapé-Miri and Tomé-Açu.

The training served employees from the Military Police, Municipal Guard, municipal secretariats of Social Assistance, Education, Health, Administration, Culture, and Environment, as well as participants from the Duque de Caxias Center for Institution and Citizenship. The training instructed agents on providing humanized assistance to victims of violence in the context of belonging to a vulnerable group, through reception and dialogue.

The training brought together employees from various state and municipal agencies

For Ualame Machado, head of Segup, the action reinforces the State's investment in qualification and the commitment of the Security System, prioritizing care for the population. “This training is a crucial step to ensure a more humanized and efficient service to vulnerable groups in our community. By investing in the training of our professionals, we are strengthening the social protection network and ensuring that all citizens receive the necessary support in times of difficulty. This is a commitment of the state government to equality and social justice,” highlighted the secretary.

Theme - In the first instance, 64 employees participated in the action, held at the Palacete Senador Garcia, in the municipality of Igarapé-Miri, Tocantins Integration Region, on Monday (27) and Tuesday (28). The lectures addressed the identification of vulnerability situations not only in the school environment, in order to act more quickly and effectively.

Gleison Gomes de Souza, sergeant of the Military Police and current director commander of the Duque de Caxias Instruction and Citizenship Center in Igarapé-Miri, explained the importance of the instruction.
“We have nearly 120 children and adolescents in our institution, aged between 9 and 16 years. It was with great joy that we accepted the invitation to participate in the lecture on service and verification of vulnerable groups. We have five students with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and this lecture brought us a lot of knowledge regarding this area related to detecting people with vulnerabilities, both in school and in social interaction,” he informed.

At the Cultural and Agricultural Promotion Association, located in the municipality of Tomé-Açu, in the Guamá Integration Region, 58 agents continued the training on Wednesday (29), concluding on Thursday (30). The action also aimed to pass on to participants strategies for combating and reporting crimes of this nature, in an integrated manner among the agencies of the Public Security System, given the distinct nature of identifying crimes of this nature within various segments and areas of action of the agents.

For Vermauria Silva Marques Pinto, a guardian councilor from the Quatro-Bocas District in Tomé-Açu, the training further strengthens the work already being done in the municipality. “I want to express our gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this training provided by the Segup team, which was of utmost importance for our municipality. So that, from now on, with all this transfer of knowledge, the network work with vulnerable groups and victims of violence can indeed be carried out in integrated actions,” said the guardian councilor.
