The Civil Police executed a preventive arrest warrant on Thursday (30) against the man investigated for the crime of attempted femicide in Belém. The judicial order was issued by the Domestic and Family Violence Court of the District of Belém, accepting a representation from the Femicide Police Station (DEFEM), linked to the Specialized Police Station for Women's Assistance (DEAM/Belém).

According to the complaint, the physical assaults began after the couple got out of the vehicle during an argument. The suspect struck the victim, who at one point returned to the vehicle to retrieve her belongings. The man drove off, dragging her for about 250 meters in the Umarizal neighborhood.

Delegate Adriany Carvalho, head of the Femicide Police Station, explained that the investigations began after the victim's family, aged 27, went to the DEAM headquarters to report the case. “The complaint was made by the family because at that moment, the victim was still hospitalized. After medical discharge, the victim was heard at the DEAM headquarters, where she received specialized support. She was referred for a forensic examination, which confirmed injuries consistent with those reported,” she stated.

The suspect presented himself to give a statement at the Icoaraci Sectional Police Station, where the preventive arrest warrant was executed. He was taken to DEFEM for the necessary procedures and remains at the disposal of the Justice. The case is still under investigation.
