More than 500 agents will ensure safety at Global Citizen on Saturday (1st)
Segup's strategy integrates federal agencies and will have an aircraft and 100 vehicles
To ensure the mobility and safety of the population, the Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), in conjunction with federal, state, and municipal agencies, will carry out a special operation during the "Global Citizen" program this Saturday (1st) in Belém. The event at the Olympic stadium Jornalista Edgar Proença, Mangueirão, will feature a series of international and national shows with an estimated audience of 47,000 people. The integrated security strategy will have 564 agents, 100 vehicles, and even an aircraft.
The public has already collected tickets in advance, made available by the event organizers, and the opening of the parking gates is scheduled for 2:30 PM, with the start of the presentation program at 5:30 PM.
The integrated actions include ostensive and preventive patrolling, mounted policing, traffic control and management, and real-time incident response. Ualame Machado, head of Segup, highlighted the integrated actions before, during, and after the program.
"The security of this event is our top priority. The integrated planning, resulting from close collaboration between the Security Secretariat and the organizers, covers several crucial areas, including ostensive policing and access control, as well as efficient communication with the public," emphasizes Segup head Ualame Machado.
He adds: "We are confident that the measures implemented, carefully planned and coordinated, will ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all participants and the local community. Our goal is to provide a successful event where everyone can enjoy safely and peacefully," he concluded.
Planned Activities - The security scheme for Global Citizen will be carried out in an integrated manner, with joint action between public and private forces. The event will feature the Operational Control Center (CCO), located in the box sector of the stadium, on side B, responsible for coordinating the various agents involved in the operation.
Operational decisions will be centralized at the CCO, with joint action between representatives of public forces for any type of occurrence: medical cases; incidents; or emergencies. Support will be provided using images from about 800 cameras installed in the stadium and surrounding areas to expedite communication between security forces.
On Saturday (1st), the gates of Mangueirão will open at 4:00 PM for access to the public who collected tickets in advance, virtually. Tickets for vehicle access to the parking lot are already being sold and must be purchased in advance.
Traffic - With the action of the Traffic Department, Military Police, and Segbel, there will be organization and fluidity of traffic, aiming to ensure road safety.
Policing - Ostensive and preventive policing around and on access roads to Mangueirão will be carried out by the Military Police, with foot, mounted, and motorized patrols in four and two-wheeled vehicles. The Event Police Battalion will coordinate the troops responsible for maintaining public order. The Airborne Public Security Group (Graesp) will conduct monitoring flights, supporting ground teams.
The Delegacy for the Protection of Fans and Major Events and the Specialized Delegacy for Women's Assistance will ensure assistance and expedite the registration of occurrences, if necessary.
Arrival - The transport system lines, comprising metropolitan buses and BRT, will have their fleets reinforced throughout the day, starting from the São Brás terminal and the Maracauera terminal in Icoaraci. For the event, there will be a special operation where these vehicles will display signs indicating Mangueirão. After the event, free transportation will be available to the public from 12:00 AM to 2:00 AM on Sunday.
To access the stadium, the event organization divided the access as follows: East Side (A), the entrance next to the BRT station will be exclusively for pedestrians, the access gate next to the "Mangueirinho" Gym will be for automobiles and motorcycles, while the gate on Alameda Mangueirinho (next to the Planetarium) will be exclusively for buses and microbuses of the delegations. On the West Side (B), the only gates open for the entry of automobiles and motorcycles will be D and F (next to the IML). One of the lanes of Gate F will also be for pedestrian access. Gate C will be exclusive for the entry and exit of emergency and service vehicles, and gates B and E will be closed.
Regarding traffic, one hour before the gates open, vehicles traveling on the Augusto Montenegro Highway will be able to access the BRT for access to the stadium, and via Avenida Centenário and Avenida Mangueirão, the direction of the road will be one-way until the entrance of gate F (next to the IML), and from this gate to the Augusto Montenegro Highway, the road will be used in both directions for access of people arriving at the stadium, and upon leaving, the flow will be reversed.
Parking - Parking tickets were sold in advance to minimize traffic impacts. For organization, access structures, tents, and vehicle control will be set up.
Global Citizen Operation
The "Global Citizen" operation involves teams from Segup, through the Operational and Criminal Intelligence and Analysis secretariats, Graesp and Ciop; Military, Civil, and Scientific police; Detran; Military Fire Department and Seap; Seel; Federal Police; Municipal Guard; and Segbel, in an integrated action to ensure safety and tranquility for the public and the population.
