Mangal das Garças holds a special children's workshop for Amazonian Halloween

This Sunday (2), the Mangal das Garças Zoobotanical Park will hold another edition of the children's project Ecoarte. To close the season with a flourish, the workshop will have an Amazonian Halloween theme. The event will take place at the Park's amphitheater, starting at 10 a.m.
Halloween, known in Brazil as Dia das Bruxas, is an annual celebration observed in various countries around the world. Dated October 31, the festivity occurs on the eve of the Western Catholic holiday of All Saints' Day, celebrated on November 1.
With this in mind, Cumbuca - Creative Workshops has prepared a workshop that blends the Halloween spirit with the charm and magic of the Amazon. Children will be able to transform elements found in the Mangal into natural stamps to decorate their own themed flags.
“Ecoarte is marked by multiculturalism. A space for little ones to learn even more about the various experiences present in our world and how they interact with each other. Our goal is to create a fun morning that includes environmental education, learning, and enjoyment,” says Mayara Cohen, the creator of Cumbuca - Creative Workshops.
Ecoarte is a project carried out by the state government, through the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur) and the Social Organization Pará 2000, the company that manages the complex.
In addition to the children's project, Mangal das Garças offers daily programs for the public to connect as much as possible with the local fauna and flora. Check it out:
8:30 a.m. – Feeding the iguanas
9 a.m. – Walk with diurnal raptors (Tuesday to Friday)
10 a.m. – Release of butterflies (check at the ticket office)
10:15 a.m. – Feeding the turtles
11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. – Feeding the herons
5 p.m. – Walk with the owls (Tuesday to Friday)
