CIIR stands out nationally at seminar on sustainability in health
The Center received an honorable mention at the Healthy Hospitals Seminar 2025, in São Paulo, with three projects focused on environmental preservation and the promotion of collective well-being

The Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR) was highlighted at the XVIII Healthy Hospitals Seminar (SHS 2025), held from October 28 to 30, at the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in São Paulo (SP). The institution had three approved works and received an honorable mention during the I Climate and Health Symposium, which was part of the event's programming.
The projects "Community Garden", "Little Guardians Project" and "Meliponary", developed by the CIIR Sustainability Commission, were presented in the Professional Experience modality during the Symposium's Poster Session, which brought together innovative initiatives from across the country.
The honorable mention was awarded under the Friend of the Environment Award (Pama), promoted annually by the São Paulo State Health Department, which recognizes health organizations that stand out for sustainable practices and environmental protection.
National recognition - With the theme "Climate is Health, Health is Climate", SHS 2025 was co-organized with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). The event reinforced the importance of the integration between environment, health, and well-being, principles that guide CIIR's commitment to humanized, sustainable, and transformative care.
The programming integrated pre-COP30 activities, which are being developed in the period leading up to the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, which takes place in Belém in November. The goal was to bring together different actors from the health sector around innovative and transformative solutions to contemporary socio-environmental challenges in the field of health.
For the executive director of the Rehabilitation Center, Rejane Xavier, the honorable mention received at the Healthy Hospitals Seminar represents much more than institutional recognition: it reflects a genuine commitment that unites management, the multidisciplinary team, and the community around sustainability, inclusion, and holistic health.
“Each project presented translates care in its broadest form, one that arises from people and expands to the environment we live in. CIIR has been consolidating a culture of responsible innovation, where sustainable practices are part of our daily work. Receiving this distinction at a nationally relevant event reinforces that we are on the right path: transforming health care based on respect for the planet and valuing life,” highlighted the manager, while thanking the support of the Government of the State of Pará, through the State Department of Public Health (Sespa).

Care that inspires - Valda Lúcia de Moraes Nascimento, mother of young Maria Izabel Nogueira, 17, and a CIIR user for seven years, highlighted the importance of the sustainable initiatives promoted by the institution.
According to her, the Center goes beyond health care by providing spaces and activities that welcome families and raise environmental awareness. “It’s a wonderful initiative. Here it’s not just a rehabilitation center; it’s an environment that also supports mothers and encourages caring for the place we live. This serves as inspiration for other institutions to also care about the environment,” said Valda Lúcia.
Sustainability in action - For Luciana Maués, pedagogical coordinator and member of the Sustainability Commission, receiving the honorable mention for the three sustainability projects is recognition that reinforces the institution's commitment to socio-environmental responsibility. “More than an achievement, it represents the reflection of continuous work in favor of the environment and the promotion of collective well-being. These initiatives demonstrate that care goes beyond the walls of the institution, reaching the community and inspiring more conscious and sustainable practices in our daily lives,” she emphasized.
The president of the Commission, Denise Morais, also highlighted the impact of the award. “This recognition symbolizes not only the fulfillment of environmental and social goals but also the consolidation of an organizational culture focused on responsibility and continuous improvement. It is a public recognition that inspires other institutions and reinforces the commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the global health and sustainability agenda,” she stated.

Institutional presence - In addition to the representatives of the Sustainability Commission, administrative assistant Thaiz Silva also participated in the event, accompanying the presentation of the projects and the receipt of the honorable mention on behalf of CIIR.
The set of initiatives reaffirms CIIR's leadership in promoting environmental health and building care that values people and the planet.
