The Government of Pará, through the Civil Police of the State, launched, on the morning of this Thursday (30), the new interface of the Virtual Police Station, which now operates in four languages: Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French. The update reinforces the State's commitment to ensuring quick and effective access to public safety services, especially during the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will be held in Belém, and will remain as a legacy of modernization for the people of Pará.

According to the general delegate of the Civil Police, Raimundo Benassuly, the initiative expands the capacity to assist victims both inside and outside Pará. “The Civil Police of the State of Pará (PCPA) constantly works to serve both local citizens and tourists from various locations in the best possible way. If there are any doubts on how to use the site, users can watch a quick and explanatory video, in several languages, with step-by-step instructions on how to report a police occurrence through the Virtual Police Station, which evolves once again to facilitate access for victims,” he explained.

Developed by the Information and Communication Technology Company (Prodepa), in partnership with the PCPA, the Multilingual Virtual Police Station is compatible with mobile devices and integrated into the Integrated Public Safety System (SISP 2.0). The system automatically identifies the typification and geographical location of the event, directing the report to the competent police station and optimizing the investigation process.

According to Flávio Alves, manager of Prodepa, the platform has been modernized to enhance the user experience. “Prodepa has made several modifications to the Virtual Police Station website over time, aiming to provide users with a more intuitive experience, especially on smartphones and tablets, which are now the main means of accessing digital services. Now, we have further improved the interface to ensure automatic and secure translations, guaranteeing easy and quick access for users,” he highlighted.

Carlos Maneschy, president of Prodepa, emphasizes that the reason for the existence of the State's IT company is to increasingly facilitate citizens' lives by building technological tools that can ease and expedite their lives. “In the case of the Virtual Police Station, we worked for months to enhance the system to enable not only those living here in the State but also tourists and visitors coming to Pará to report occurrences in the area of public safety that may affect them, helping the State build statistics that can improve public safety policies. We believe this tool will greatly assist the thousands of people who will soon be here in Belém participating in COP,” the president believes.

History - The Virtual Police Station of the Civil Police of Pará, managed by the Directorate of Informatics, Maintenance, and Statistics (Dime) of the PCPA, was created in 2004 as a tool for reporting loss or misplacement of documents and occurrences of lesser severity. “In 2020, during the pandemic, the system was expanded to include crimes such as theft, robbery, arson, fraud, threats, hate crimes, stalking, animal crimes, among others. With the COP30 taking place in Belém, we further enhanced the service to ensure that foreign citizens can also report occurrences in a simple and accessible manner,” concluded the PCPA manager.

Available services - The Multilingual Virtual Police Station offers registration for the following cases: loss/misplacement; theft; theft or robbery in app transportation; robbery; crimes against animals; agrarian crimes; traffic accidents without victims; domestic and family violence against women; death from natural causes; threats; injury; slander; defamation; crimes against consumer relations; disturbance of peace; invasion of computer devices; fraud; false identity; false alarm; and hate crimes.

The site also allows issuing a second copy of the Occurrence Bulletin (B.O.), with the same validity as the document registered in person at a police station. The Multilingual Virtual Police Station is available at: https://www.delegaciavirtual.pa.gov.br/
