Government delivers new equipment for the Security System of Pará and presents the new headquarters of Segup
With an investment of over R$ 50 million, the State delivers vehicles, boats, firearms, and security equipment to enhance police fleets. Segup has gained new facilities
 
On this Thursday, the 30th, the State Government carried out another significant delivery aimed at the Public Security agencies of Pará, at the headquarters of the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup). The investment, amounting to over R$ 50 million, aims to strengthen and enhance the fleet of the Security System agencies that will already be used during the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which takes place in Belém in November. Among the equipment delivered by Governor Helder Barbalho are vehicles, ballistic vests, pistols, grenades, radios, buses, rescue vehicles, fast boats for the Pró-Mulher Pará project, and a trailer that will be used as the newest Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center for Public Safety.
On this occasion, the head of the state executive also visited the new facilities of the Segup headquarters, from where security actions during COP30 will be monitored. For him, the investment actions are part of an important strategy for the security agencies of Pará.
“This is the largest delivery in the history of the Public Security System, all at once, an investment of 50 million reais that includes technology with high-range cameras, as well as drones, plus a Mobile Command and Control Center, all with the most modern technology applied in the world. We also have vehicles, firearms, equipment aimed at the Military Police, the Civil Police, the Fire Department, investments that allow the corporations, with the quality of our workforce, with extraordinary workers who protect the population of our State, to continue advancing to ensure peace for the population, the proximity of the security agencies to each citizen, service provision, citizenship, social justice so that, with this, we can make the State of Pará continue to advance to ensure peace for its people,” emphasized Helder Barbalho.
Vice Governor Hana Ghassan emphasized that in seven years of management, the State has always prioritized the demands of public safety for the benefit of society. “It has been seven years of important management in which the Government of Pará has never failed to meet and enhance public safety. This is another delivery, which since the first day of government work has had security as one of its main pillars, thus meeting a need of the population, and today we are here once again reinventing ourselves and with the integration of all agencies, it has been one of our most important actions,” pointed out Hana Ghassan.
The investment resources total R$ 53,309,322.59, coming from the National Public Security Fund and the State Public Security Fund (Fesp), linked to Segup, in addition to agreements with the Federal Government linked to the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense. Among the agencies benefiting from the new equipment are the Civil Police, Military Police, and State Scientific Police (PCE), as well as the Military Fire Department and Segup.
The Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, Ualame Machado, highlighted the historic delivery and the importance of the equipment to strengthen security actions in the State. “A historic delivery for public safety in Pará, several security agencies, the public security system in general, receiving state-of-the-art modern equipment, the best in the world, the new mobile CICC, our mobile structure that can monitor with drones, with exclusive cameras, with cameras that reach up to 3,000 meters away so that we can monitor everything. Equipment in terms of firearms, light and sound, all the forensic structure being delivered, new boats, armored boats, fire trucks, and besides that, obviously, the delivery of the new Segup building, which recently changed headquarters, and we are inaugurating the new building so that our servers can provide better service, but also the population can have even greater and better assistance,” said the head of Segup.
Buses and firearms - In the delivery, the Military Police of Pará received a Double Deck bus, 6,700 handcuffs, 627 ballistic vests, 787 Beretta .40 mm pistols, 2 patrol boats, one boat that will be used for the Pró-Mulher Pará program, 4 drones, 2,180 explosive grenades of moral effect, light and sound, smoke and tear gas, 32 ballistic protection helmets, 5,168 raincoats, 20 night vision and thermal sight devices, 120 laser optical magnifiers, 100 optronic sights, and 16 bi-ocular night vision devices.
“This delivery for the Military Police is of utmost importance, we received high-tech equipment to strengthen our apparatus, especially our Mobile Command and Control Center, where we will be able to operate in an integrated manner with the other security forces and thus, we will continue to guarantee society more security. In these seven years, the State Government has always been investing and strengthening our troops, which ensures us more effective work in combating crime,” said the commander-general of the Military Police, Colonel Sérgio Neves.
New vehicles and boat for Pró-Mulher
The Civil Police received a fast boat that will be used for the Pró-Mulher Pará Program, in addition to 4 drones, 5 vehicles 2.0, and 7 multispectral tablets. The general delegate of the Civil Police, Raimundo Benassuly, emphasized that the equipment will further assist the actions of the corporation, especially in the investigative area.
“These are important equipment, we can talk about the boat that will be used by the Women's Police Station, in the protection of women and also in the material for fingerprint expertise. It is a state-of-the-art equipment that the Civil Police uses in investigations to identify suspects at crime scenes, so it is an important investment, reinforcing the investigative action of the Civil Police in the state context, this demonstrates a very important advance that we are making at this moment,” said the general delegate of the Civil Police.
The State Scientific Police also received 3 new 2.0 vehicles, which will add to the vehicles used by the forensic teams.
Rescue ambulances and fire fighting kit
The Military Fire Department was also benefited from the investments of the State Government, including the acquisition of 15 rescue ambulances, 2 Tank Fire Trucks, specialized in firefighting, plus 5 drones, 38 pickup kits for firefighting. The commander-general of the Military Fire Department, Colonel Jayme de Aviz Benjó, spoke about the equipment and the improvement in the performance of the corporation's agents to better serve the population.
“Today, in addition to specific equipment for firefighting, we also received rescue vehicles, which for us is an advance and a very important achievement, as we will be able to increase our operational reach and thus offer more quality and safety in rescue actions to the population,” said the commander-general of the Military Fire Department.
 
New Segup and another Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center of Segup
At the delivery event, Governor Helder Barbalho visited the new facilities of the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense of Pará (Segup), located at Travessa Chaco, 2271. The completely restructured building houses the administrative units of Segup, in addition to the Integrated Operations Center, the Ciop, the Disque-Denúncias, and the Integrated Command and Control Center. The investment for the new headquarters of the secretary totals R$ 762,972.55.
Segup was also benefited from investments in security with the acquisition of a trailer-type vehicle that will be used as another Integrated Mobile Command and Control Center for Public Safety, now totaling two mobile video monitoring equipment for use during major events and operations coordinated by Segup.
The Public Security River Group (Gflu), linked to Segup, also received a new armored boat, this being the seventh fully armored boat of the State, in addition to another fast boat for river patrol. The Secretary will also acquire a van that will be allocated to the Pró-Mulher Pará Program, in addition to a drone and more 100 HT/NT radios.
On this occasion, three fallen police officers were honored by the Security System, namely, the sub-lieutenant of the Military Police, Silva Margarida Lima Sousa, the corporal of the Military Police Jamilly Marília Freitas de Oliveira, and the sergeant of the Military Police, Lucas da Silva Monteiro. All will have their names given to the new vessels acquired by the security forces.
 
Pró-Mulher Pará - All forces received a new boat that will be used, especially, for the assistance of riverside women victims of domestic violence. “This is an important delivery, not only in the quantity of vehicles and equipment but also shows the State's initiative in combating violence against women, and knowing that our State is surrounded by rivers, we acquired exclusive boats to provide assistance and support to riverside women victims of domestic violence,” emphasized the head of Segup, Ualame Machado.
More investments for Public Safety
From January to September 2025, the Government of Pará, through Segup, has already made important deliveries for the Public Security System. Among the investments are: the new headquarters of the River Group, armored vehicles for the Civil and Military Police, 20 rifles, ballistic vests for the state system agencies, in addition to municipal traffic agencies. The State also delivered 4 Women's Service Totems, as well as new Public Safety Totems for the municipalities of Tucuruí, Castanhal, Bragança, and Marituba.
