Belém now has a new expansion of the "Agora Tem Especialistas" program, resulting from the partnership between the Pará State Department of Public Health (Sespa), the Ministry of Health, and the Hapvida network. The initiative marks the beginning of the reimbursement modality to the Unified Health System (SUS), which will significantly expand access to surgeries and specialized services in the capital of Pará.

With this new phase, it is expected that, over the course of a year, 480 elective surgeries and 1,680 Integrated Care Offers (OCI) will be performed – which include consultations, exams, and diagnostic procedures in a single care flow. The services will be provided at the Rio Mar Hospital, part of the Hapvida network, which will ensure greater agility in the process and reduce waiting times for the population.

According to the director of the Analysis and Services Department of Sespa, Flávio Reis, the program has been consolidating as an important strategy for integrating the public and private health networks.

"The 'Agora Tem Especialistas' program is operational in 13 regional hospitals, expanding the offer of elective surgeries and prioritizing patients according to their clinical condition. In addition, the program has outpatient and financial credit components, which strengthen the state's capacity to provide care. Now, with the reimbursement component, we ensure the sustainability and continuity of actions, promoting a more effective and efficient network," explained Flávio Reis.

The "Agora Tem Especialistas" integrates different fronts of action: the Elective Surgeries Component, which expands the offer of procedures in regional hospitals; the Outpatient Component, which includes itinerant services from the Women's Truck, with consultations in gynecology and oncology; the Financial Credit Component, which enables partnerships with institutions such as the Beneficent Portuguese Hospital, the Cynthia Charone Clinic, and the Maradei Hospital; and now, the Reimbursement Component, which formalizes the integration between SUS and health plans.

For the State Secretary of Public Health, Ivete Vaz, the expansion in Belém reinforces the commitment of the Pará government to ensure fast and quality care for the population. "Governor Helder Barbalho has determined that health reaches people more closely, with resolution and care. This new phase of the program represents another step in this direction, expanding access to specialists and procedures and strengthening SUS in Pará," said Ivete Vaz.

With concrete results in several regions of the state, the program continues to advance and consolidate a new model of care, based on the integration between networks and the expansion of service offerings.

"Our goal is to reduce waiting lists, increase local and regional resolution, and provide the population with a more agile, humane, and efficient health system," highlighted Flávio Reis.
