Civil Police seizes 72 packages of drugs and arrests suspect in the act
State Narcotics Division (Denarc) located the drugs in a warehouse in the Cruzeiro neighborhood, Icoaraci district, in Belém
The Civil Police, through the State Narcotics Division (Denarc), seized 72 packages of narcotic substance stored in a warehouse located in the Cruzeiro neighborhood, Icoaraci district, in Belém, on Wednesday (29).
The police action began after anonymous reports indicated that the property in question was being used as a drug depot belonging to a criminal organization operating in the Metropolitan Region of Belém.
“In light of the information, the civil police officers from Denarc went to the indicated address, where they conducted surveillance and monitoring. The investigators observed a man in front of the warehouse acting suspiciously, appearing to be watching the location. After approaching him, the individual stated that he had been hired by a man to look after a load stored inside the property,” reported the director of Denarc, delegate Davi Cordeiro.
Inside the warehouse, sealed bags containing 72 packages of a substance similar to cocaine were found, packaged in characteristic plastic wrappers. Given the discovery of the illegal material, the suspect was arrested in the act and was taken, along with the narcotics, to the State Narcotics Division for the adoption of the appropriate legal procedures.
The seized material was properly sealed and sent to the Scientific Police of the State of Pará for forensic analysis. Investigations are ongoing to identify other individuals who may be linked to the narcotics.
