The agenda of the Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) in Marabá, southeast Pará, responded to the official request sent by the Municipal Secretary of Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology (Sicom), which requested a meeting to discuss the situation of the Industrial District and the advancement of new productive opportunities in the municipality. In recent weeks, the Company also received representatives from the City Council, which reinforced the need for an in-person agenda. In the municipality, the team conducted a technical inspection of the district to update the physical diagnosis and the areas with potential for expansion.

Meeting of the Codec team with managers from Marabá

During the meeting, Codec's technical director, Ruy Klautau, emphasized that the company's role in the territory aims to structure conditions for development – not just to release areas. "Marabá already has a consolidated district, with important companies in operation, and is now starting a new cycle of expansion. Our job is to organize the territory, give productive destinations to areas that are still not in use, and prepare the infrastructure so that new enterprises find real conditions to settle. Codec's role is to prepare the institutional and technical ground for investment to happen," he stated.

Security - The municipal secretary of Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology, Eugênio Vale, acknowledged the importance of the State's presence, through Codec, and confirmed that there are companies with projects already completed and ready to begin installation. "Some industries are expected to arrive at the beginning of next year. What was missing was the institutional alignment with the State to define the appropriate area. Codec's action brings security to this process and transforms intention into concrete investment," he stated.

The municipal manager also reinforced that the expansion of the Industrial District should occur with planning and order, and not in an improvised manner. "The installation of new enterprises needs to follow technical criteria and clear guidelines. When the territory is organized, the population benefits, because the final result is employment, income, and strengthening of the productive chain," the secretary added.

The coordinator of Economic Development from the Regional Government Secretary of the South and Southeast of Pará, Alaor Delfino, also accompanied the agenda, ensuring the territorial presence of the State and reinforcing the alignment between state and municipal instances.

Letter of Intent - Still during the meeting, Codec's Strategy and Institutional Relations advisor, Evandro Diniz, detailed the process of formalizing this alignment. "The letter of intent is the instrument that marks the State's entry into the territory and begins the preparation of the municipality to receive investment. From it, Codec updates the Investor's Guide, structures the preparatory stage of the seminar, organizes the technical agenda, and defines the most suitable areas for industrial implementation. It is a model that transforms demand into project and project into result," he explained.

As a follow-up, Codec will continue the technical survey of suitable areas while preparing the formalization of the letter of intent with the municipality, a step that will integrate Marabá into the official investment attraction pipeline of the Government of Pará. The initiative is part of the state strategy for the interiorization of development, focusing on organizing the territory, generating employment, and expanding the base of productive opportunities.
