Sefa inspector checks the truck that transported the goods with invoices showing values below expected

The Secretary of Finance of Pará (Sefa) seized, this Wednesday (28), 3,570 men's shorts during an inspection carried out at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Gurupi, in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, northeastern Pará.

“The driver of the truck presented invoices originating from Caruaru (PE) and destined for Belém (PA), with values below expected. The inspection team observed that the vehicle was sealed, which raised suspicion, as this procedure is not common for low-value goods,” explained coordinator Gustavo Bozola.

During the physical verification of the goods, the inspectors opened all the boxes, discovering 3,570 men's shorts made of Tactel, with tags showing the actual value of the goods. “However, the values on the invoices were much lower than those on the tags, causing discrepancies and a lower tax to be collected,” explained the state revenue inspector.

The values of the products were adjusted to the actual value indicated on the tags, totaling R$ 249,543.00. A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 57,584.54, referring to the ICMS and the fine applied.
