The Government of Pará, through Banpará, launched on Tuesday (28), a financing line for sustainable vehicles (electric and hybrid). The announcement took place at the Government Palace in Belém during the signing of State Law No. 11.233/2025, which addresses the exemption from IPVA for electric vehicles up to R$ 150,000. The goal is to facilitate the population's access to renewable sources while contributing to environmental preservation.

"Banpará opens a financing line to facilitate access to electric cars that will help reduce the emission of gases that pollute the environment. We make it easier for people to access credit so they can have a quality vehicle based on sustainability. We are ending the day with actions that range from tax benefits, with the exemption from IPVA, to financing incentives, so that more and more people in Pará can manage to move around sustainably, contributing to the reduction of environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions within a state that is consolidating itself as a sustainable state, as the capital of the Amazon," said Governor Helder Barbalho.

The proposal, in addition to making financial resources available, reaffirms the bank's commitment to social and environmental responsibility and responsible growth, aligned with global efforts to combat climate change.

"Banpará has the mission of being a promoter of sustainable economic and social development, and this launch reaffirms our commitment. We are living in a moment where the transition to a low-carbon economy has ceased to be a trend and has become a necessity. And Banpará, as a financial and transformative agent, in partnership with the Government of Pará, understands its role in this process. That is why we are offering the new line for the acquisition of electric and hybrid vehicles, encouraging cleaner and more efficient mobility," says Banpará President Ruth Pimentel Mello.

For taxi driver Junior Seroto, who works in Belém, this line that Banpará will make available is yet another important benefit for the category and also for the residents of Pará.

"It is one more of several that the Government of Pará has made available for the segment and also for the population. I can list several, since the time of the pandemic, it has always helped taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers. There was the Hope Fund, the Citizen Credit. There is a credit line of R$ 100,000 for the purchase of a new car that is available at Banpará. There is R$ 20,000 in credit for vehicle renovation. And now there is this new credit line for sustainable vehicles, in addition to the exemption from IPVA when purchasing this vehicle," he commented.

The new financing line is intended for individual clients. For more information, clients can go to a Banpará Agency, present in all 144 municipalities of the State of Pará, or consult the institutional website banpara.b.br.
