Cultural Foundation of Pará registers for the Art and Sustainability workshop in Marabá
The activity, which is free, will have classes in the morning and evening and will take place from October 29 to 31
The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) is open for registrations for the Art and Sustainability workshop with plastic reuse that will take place from October 29 to 31, with classes at the Cultural Station in Marabá. To participate, it is necessary to fill out the electronic form available here. The activity is free.
With classes in the morning and evening, the workshop will address the fusion between sustainability and fashion through the reuse of plastic to create bags. This approach, known as upcycling, reduces dependence on fossil resources, decreases CO₂ emissions, and minimizes waste in landfills, promoting a circular economy and encouraging creativity in the fashion industry.
Cultural technician Ana Luz will conduct the classes. “The workshop aims to present the existing possibilities in reusing what is discarded, such as: banners, truck tarps, plastic, among others, to create personalized products, overlaying ancient manual techniques, such as: crochet, macramé, weaving, etc., for generating socio-bio-economic income,” she details.
In the workshop held in Marabá, the goal will be to use plastic from plastic bags to make utilitarian objects and fashion items such as: bags, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces, among others. It is recommended that students bring to the classes: an iron, scissors, plastic supermarket bags, and general packaging plastics.
