Marina Mota holds a PhD in Arts from UFPA and will teach the course

The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) has extended the deadline for registrations for the introductory audio description (AD) workshop to October 29. To compete for one of the 30 available slots, it is necessary to fill out an electronic form. The activity is free of charge. Classes will be held at the Casa das Artes from November 1 to 5.

The Introductory Workshop on Audio Description (AD) is the first training action of the Accessibility and Creative Aesthetics Center project of the Cultural Foundation of Pará. Audio Description (AD) is a communication accessibility resource that describes visual elements, such as images, videos, choreographies, theatrical plays, and films, enhancing the understanding of people with visual impairments.

AD can also benefit people with intellectual disabilities, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, the elderly, and others without disabilities. The course aims to provide knowledge of audio description techniques and their applicability in various contexts (especially in the artistic-cultural context), through theoretical and practical reflections.

The course will be taught by Marina Mota, a neurodivergent woman with dual exceptionalities: level 1 autism and high abilities. Marina holds a master's and a doctorate in Arts from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), after completing her degree in Physical Education, also at UFPA. She is a specialist in Audio Description from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC/MG) and in Inclusive Education with an emphasis on Specialized Educational Assistance.

Marina is also a physical education teacher and coordinator of the Corpus Sensorialis Dance Collective since 2003. This work consists of dancers with disabilities; in addition, she acts as a consultant in cultural accessibility.
