The Paralympic athlete from Pará, Emanuelly Braga, 18 years old, has already secured her participation in the Loterias Caixa Brazilian Athletics Championship 2025, which will take place from December 1 to 3 in São Paulo (SP). With the support of the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel), Emanuelly earned her spot in the Pará delegation when she stood on the podium at the Brazilian Youth Championship 2025, also in the capital of São Paulo, organized by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), at the Brazilian Paralympic Training Center (CTPB), on October 14, 15, and 16.
Emanuelly Braga, who competes in the under-20 category, won three medals in the competition, one gold and two silver, and also broke the record in the club throw event (F32), with a mark of 12m45cm.
She also excelled in the Petra T72 running events, with a time of 22s24 in the 100 meters and 1m36s61 in the 400 m, securing two silver medals. With this performance, the athlete ensured her qualification for the competition in December.
Inclusion - The Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the importance of the achievement and the investment of the Government of Pará in Paralympic sports. “Emanuelly's result is a source of great pride for all of Pará. She represents the strength, overcoming, and talent of our Paralympic athletes. The state government, through Seel, has been working to ensure that sports become increasingly inclusive, offering opportunities and recognition to those who carry the name of Pará to Brazil and the world,” emphasized the head of Seel.
Janete Braga, the athlete's mother, thanked for the support received. “I am immensely proud and moved by Emanuelly's achievement. Seeing a person with a disability reach such an incredible feat is a true example of overcoming. We thank the support of the Government of Pará, Seel, coach Reyel Aquino, and the All Star Rodas Pará club, who believed in her potential,” she stated.
Record - Emanuelly Braga made her debut in the club throw event last August, at the Meeting held in Macapá (AP), securing her spot for the national competition, and has already made history by setting the national record.
The club throw is a specific event for people with cerebral palsy or sequelae from a stroke (AVC) and spinal cord injury. It is practiced with an instrument similar to the baton used in artistic gymnastics. The parathlete must sit in a chair, with a maximum height of 75 cm.
