The Civil Police of Pará carried out, on the morning of this Thursday (23), the third phase of the Critical Point Operation to execute arrest warrants and search and seizure against those investigated for various crimes. During the police action, which took place in more than 40 cities in the interior of Pará, drugs and weapons were seized, resulting in arrests in the act.

Civil Police team overcomes rivers to execute warrants in the Critical Point Operation

“Since the first phase, the Critical Point operation aims to provide support to police units, intensify policing actions and combat crime in the State, as well as expand access to public safety and promote a peaceful environment for communities. All Integrated Public Security Regions that make up the Interior Police Directorate (DPI) acted effectively in executing judicial warrants and promoting more security for citizens,” explains delegate Hennison Jacob, head of the DPI.

Arrests and seizures

The teams from the Regional Superintendency of Southeast Pará executed 19 arrests, including preventive, temporary, and in the act. “So far, we have managed to carry out 12 preventive arrests, one temporary, and six arrests in the act, in addition to four search and seizure warrants in residences linked to the investigated individuals and two apprehensions of minors for unlawful acts. In the house of one of the targets, the clothing he wore during a homicide was seized. Of the arrests in the act, those involved will face charges for illegal possession of firearms and energy theft,” detailed delegate Antônio Mororó, superintendent of the region.

The police action continues throughout the day to execute the other warrants. “Our average reaches 100 arrests in each phase of the operation that has already been launched. For the third phase, it is already possible to account for more than 80 people arrested so far, with the possibility that this number will exceed the number of arrests that occurred previously. The Critical Point will have other phases to be started in the coming months, and our work continues.

In addition to the police officers linked to the DPI, teams from the Coordination of Operations and Special Resources (CORE) also participated in the action. All those arrested were taken to the police station, where they underwent legal procedures and are at the disposal of the Judiciary.
