Industries, the Business Association, and the City Hall of Castanhal received the Gas Company of Pará in a meeting on Wednesday morning (22) to announce the arrival of natural gas to the city. The presentation of the product at the headquarters of the Business Association of Castanhal highlighted the economic and environmental advantages of the energy transition for the municipality in the northeastern state.

With 200,000 inhabitants, Castanhal is a commercial hub that supplies 30 cities in the region. In the municipality, sectors of Industry and Commerce are seeking solutions to increase competitiveness. It is in this scenario that Gas do Pará offers a profitable and sustainable alternative through the proposals presented to entrepreneurs and municipal secretaries of the environment, Rosimar Possêdonio; agriculture, Francisco Carlos; and industry, commerce, and services, Eduardo Espinheiro Jr.

Gas Company of Pará shows the advantages of the energy process to representatives of the productive sector of Castanhal

“The presentation made at ACIC for entrepreneurs and municipal secretaries shows that the arrival of natural gas will bring benefits to the industrial sector and society. The already established industries, by changing their energy matrix to natural gas, in addition to greater competitiveness due to lower costs, will have higher and better quality products, in addition to contributing to decarbonization. We are talking about energy transition, following the determination of Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Hana Ghassan, of ‘Gas for All Pará’,” emphasizes Flexa Ribeiro, president of the Gas Company of Pará.

In addition to the meeting at ACIC, GdP will also reach out to those interested in learning about and using Natural Gas. “We will visit the industries to analyze each one individually, with the benefits of energy substitution for Natural Gas,” recalls Bruno Sousa, planning coordinator of the Gas Company of Pará.

“We have several companies that need Natural Gas to achieve cost reduction, increasing productivity and competitiveness,” points out Renato Roldem, president of the Business Association of Castanhal.

Representatives of large industries express anxiety about the arrival of natural gas. This is the case of the Castanhal Textile Company, which employs about 1,400 workers. “Great expectation. We have two boilers that generate energy. It improves the environmental aspect and the safety of those involved there because it is a classified area, a dangerous area,” reveals Patrícia Cunha, health manager at CTC. For Alessandro Ramos, production manager at Mariza, the implementation of natural gas in the food industry can bring another leap in quality to the company. “It will greatly benefit our production in terms of improvement, consumption, and costs. Hoping it works out and happens as soon as possible,” indicates Alessandro.

The importance for the environment was also highlighted by the participants of the meeting, attentive to the environmental issues that are part of industrial sustainability initiatives. “Decarbonization, lower costs for nature. We value life and the environment. Everything is interconnected,” emphasizes Patrícia Cunha. The secretary of the environment of Castanhal, Rosimar Possêdonio, expressed optimism about the energy transition in the city. “With the visit of the technicians who are coming, in addition to showing the importance of natural gas and the significant savings for the municipality, there is also the quality of life for the people of Castanhal,” reinforces the secretary.

The industrial condominium of Castanhal is another space that will house large companies in the municipality, in addition to attracting new investors. A location that will have the presence of GdP. “By bringing Gas to Castanhal, we can also announce the product for the industrial district of Castanhal, to be implemented in the near future. It will certainly be an attraction for the installation of more companies in the area,” emphasizes Flexa Ribeiro, president of Gas do Pará. “The start of construction is on the horizon, and having Natural Gas here will be a significant differential to boost our industrial condominium,” concludes Renato Roldem, president of ACIC.
