Casa da Linguagem holds the meeting “Art . Artist . Amazon”
The initiative promotes dialogues and exchanges about visual arts and Amazonian audiovisual
The Cultural Foundation of Pará, through the Casa da Linguagem, will hold the meeting “Art . Artist . Amazon” on October 29, 30, and 31, which will take place at the Casa da Linguagem. The event aims to promote dialogues and exchanges about visual arts and Amazonian audiovisual, strengthening networks, providing visibility, and valuing regional production. The meeting will be a space for the exchange of artistic production in dialogue with global issues and will bring together artists, researchers, students, and the community, highlighting contemporary practices, languages, and aesthetics that emerge from the region.
The meeting “Art . Artist . Amazon” strengthens the discussion of visual arts and Amazonian audiovisual, as these productions often remain invisible in the major national and international artistic circuits.
For Márcio Lins, a PhD in Arts and technician at FCP, this meeting is important to attract new perspectives on the art developed in the Amazon. “As an event organized by the Coordination of Audiovisual and Visual Arts and the Directorate of Arts, we hope to strengthen networks of reflection on art in our region, bringing together audiences, languages, and perspectives. Especially since this event aligns with the mission of the Cultural Foundation of Pará, which is to value and disseminate Amazonian art, fostering new perspectives, connections, frictions, and cultural possibilities,” he said.
The event values the diversity and creative power of the region, in addition to contributing to the construction of critical thinking about art in the Amazon.
