Uepa promotes Academic Week in Ananindeua to encourage students to produce knowledge and research

The XXII Campus of the State University of Pará (Uepa), located in Ananindeua, will hold the I Academic Week of Campus XXII Uepa Ananindeua from October 21 to 24, 2025. The event will bring together students, teachers, researchers, and the community at large in lectures, round tables, mini-courses, presentations of works, and cultural activities.

With the theme Education, Health, Technology, and Environment: smart solutions for a sustainable world, the Academic Week proposes a reflection on the major contemporary challenges, such as climate change, environmental preservation, the ethical use of technology, and the promotion of collective health. By addressing different areas of knowledge, the event seeks to stimulate debates, present innovative solutions, and strengthen the university's social commitment.

During the four days of activities, there will be presentations of works in the formats of oral communication and poster, encouraging scientific initiation and student leadership. Among the activities open to the public, highlights include the vaccination campaign, the Mobile Planetarium, the Entrepreneur Fair, and the launch of the book Cabanagem: the Popular Revolution of the Amazon, by Pasquale Di Paolo, a highlight in this year's Book Fair edition.

One of the highlights of the Week will be the round table “The importance of Artificial Intelligence in the context of the Amazon: the management of vector-borne diseases,” which will be moderated by Uepa professor Cléa Bichara. The debate aims to discuss the potentials and challenges of using smart technologies applied to health and the environment in the Amazon region.

For Professor Camila Claide, coordinator of Campus XXII, the Academic Week plays a fundamental role in the education of undergraduate students. "The Academic Week is a way to encourage students to produce knowledge and develop research. It is an important moment within the undergraduate program, not only for veterans but also for those who are just starting. Our lectures focus on the theme of sustainability and COP 30, which reflects the moment we are living in the State of Pará and in the Amazon. It was with this objective that we chose to work on the theme from this perspective," highlighted the coordinator.

The coordinator also highlighted the engagement of the academic community in the organization and activities. "The expectation has been very good. We have already had over 200 registrations, which shows the involvement of students with the academic week, especially in the production and participation in activities," added Camila.

Held in partnership with the Coordinations of the Courses in Biomedicine, Software Engineering, Forestry Engineering, and Mathematics Teaching, the I Academic Week of Campus XXII consolidates itself as a space for collective and multidisciplinary construction, reaffirming the role of science and education in sustainable development and social transformation.
