The Secretary of Tourism of Pará (Setur) promotes, in partnership with the National Rural Learning Service (Senar) and the municipal governments of Colares, Benevides, and Ponta de Pedras, a series of training and professional qualification courses aimed at income generation and strengthening local tourism in the municipalities. The training actions conclude this Friday (17) and are part of the qualification calendar promoted by Setur in various state regions.

The training involved various topics directly related to entrepreneurship and the appreciation of regional production. In Colares, courses such as "Crafts in Embroidery and Decorated Sandals," "Oilseed Production - Vegetable Production" in the Cacau community, and "Cakes and Sweets" in the Piquiatuba community were held. In Ponta de Pedras, in Marajó, the secretary promotes the course "Hotel Receptionist," while in Benevides, the course "Quality in Service" was offered.

The Piquiatuba community, located about seven kilometers from the headquarters of the municipality of Colares, is known for its strong production of açaí. Based on the local reality, the Cakes and Sweets course, taught by Elizabete Souza, focused specifically on the production of açaí cakes and liqueurs, encouraging the use of community products and expanding the income possibilities for participating families.

In Benevides, the course "Quality in Service" was offered, aimed at training professionals who work directly with the public, reinforcing the importance of hospitality and excellence in tourism services. The training covered communication techniques, professional posture, and practices aimed at customer satisfaction, contributing to enhancing the experience of visitors and strengthening the image of the municipality as a welcoming destination prepared to receive tourists.

In Ponta de Pedras, the Hotel Receptionist course helped prepare professionals for tourist service, reinforcing hospitality and the municipality's potential as a receptive destination in the Marajó region.

According to Vânia Silva, development agent of the municipality of Colares, the training has represented an important milestone for local economic growth. "I am pleased to be able to help in the development of our municipality by bringing these trainings in partnership with the State Government and Senar. From June to October, we have already completed 20 courses, each with about 20 participants. Our goal is to generate income and strengthen tourism in Colares," she highlighted.

The instructor Tarcilene Veloso, responsible for knowledge in crafts, embroidery, and decorated sandals, emphasized the entrepreneurial nature of the training. "The goal of my course was to teach the girls to become entrepreneurs, to customize sandals in various ways, so they can have a fixed income and possibly open their own business in the future," she explained.

For the Secretary of Tourism of Pará, Eduardo Costa, investing in professional training is essential to strengthen the economy and value the human potential of communities. "Each course represents an opportunity for social and economic transformation. Professional qualification is one of the main tools to prepare the people of Pará for the growth of tourism and for the new job opportunities that arise throughout the tourism sector of the State," he stated.
