The State Government, through the Integrated Center for Inclusion and Rehabilitation (CIIR), in Belém, was highlighted at the World Forum on Person-Centered Care 2025, held from October 12 to 15 in Baltimore, United States.

The event, considered one of the most important in the world for promoting person-centered care, brought together professionals, managers, and reference health institutions from various countries, strengthening technical exchange and sharing of international experiences.

During the gala dinner that concluded the forum, representatives of the CIIR were awarded the Spirit of Planetree Award, one of the most prestigious recognitions in the field. Honored were the Northern Operational Director of the National Institute of Social and Human Development (INDSH), and the social organization that manages the center, in partnership with the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), José Neto.

Also on the list of awardees were the Executive Director of the CIIR, Rejane Xavier; and the pediatric orthopedic surgeon and coordinator of the pediatric orthopedics group at the CIIR, Renato Arraes, who represented all the professionals of the unit. The award symbolizes international recognition for daily work based on humanization, excellence, and comprehensive care for the person.

“The award at the Global Planetree Forum is an international recognition that reaffirms the commitment of the Government of Pará to a more humane, inclusive, and person-centered health model. The work carried out by the CIIR and all its professionals shows that, with dedication, innovation, and sensitivity, it is possible to transform lives and offer dignified, respectful, and effective care. This achievement is a source of pride for the entire State and further strengthens our commitment to excellence in public health in Pará,” highlighted the State Secretary of Health, Ivete Vaz.

For Director José Neto, it was a great satisfaction to represent INDSH, CIIR, and celebrate the Government of Pará and Sespa in valuing person-centered care for people with disabilities. “We are recognized globally,” emphasized the manager, celebrating the work developed in Pará based on inclusion and quality care.

The Executive Director, Rejane Xavier, emphasized that the recognition celebrates engaged caregivers, clinicians, non-clinicians, and volunteers who incorporate the values of compassion, quality, and partnership, fundamental to the philosophy of Person-Centered Care promoted by Planetree International. “I thank each collaborator who contributed to our continuous improvement in favor of users, fulfilling our mission of respect for life,” said the manager, also extending thanks to the Government of Pará, through Sespa.

Presentations
During the event, the CIIR presented two oral works, both delivered in English. The first, “Evidence-Based Practices in Autism Treatment: An Analysis of Interventions Conducted at Cetea,” was presented by Communication Advisor, Danielle Carvalho. The second, “Small Steps, Big Changes: The Impact of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeries in Pará,” was presented by physician Renato Arraes. The presentations sensitized the international audience, who congratulated the institution for the technical quality and the human dimension of the work carried out.

In addition to the oral presentations, the CIIR also participated with five works in the poster category, depicting actions developed by multidisciplinary teams in the areas of rehabilitation, inclusion, and humanization of care.
