From Tuesday (14) to this Thursday (16), Brasília (DF) is hosting the National Seminar for Updating the National Socioeducational Care Plan (PNAS), bringing together representatives from socioeducation across the country. The event includes the participation of the Pará State Socioeducational Care Foundation (Fasepa), which is part of the Pará delegation alongside other state institutions.

Promoted by the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC), through the National Secretariat for the Rights of Children and Adolescents and the National Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (Conanda), the seminar is a strategic stage in the process of listening, evaluation, and collective construction of the new National Plan.

With a consultative and propositional character, the meeting aims to consolidate the proposals discussed in the state and regional stages, resulting in a final document that will be forwarded to Conanda for deliberation, in accordance with Law No. 12,594/2012. The legislation established the National Socioeducational Care System (Sinase) and set the guidelines for the execution of measures aimed at adolescents in conflict with the law.

According to social worker and advisor to the presidency of Fasepa, Mônica Calandrine, the Foundation played an active role in all phases of the process. “We were part of the organization and coordination of the State Seminar, held in Belém last year, and participated in the regional stage in Manaus (AM), which brought together the states of the North region. Now, the National Seminar consolidates the proposals built collectively, aiming to review and validate the guidelines that will compose the new Plan,” she highlighted.

Fasepa is represented at the meeting by the Director of Socioeducational Care, Andrei Miranda; the Coordinator of Socioeducational Care, Kátia Porfírio; the advisor to the presidency, Mônica Calandrine; and the monitor Adenilson Araújo. Fasepa's pedagogue and UFPA professor, Geraldo Barros, also participated as a researcher of the PNAS, for the national coordination.

The Pará delegation is completed by representatives from the State Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (Cedca-PA); the Guardianship Council of Pacajá; the Coordination of the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance (Creas) of Óbidos; and the Creas of Canaã dos Carajás.

The event concludes on the afternoon of this Wednesday (16), with the final plenary session. The participation of Fasepa representatives reaffirms Pará's commitment to collective construction and the strengthening of public policies aimed at promoting, protecting, and guaranteeing the rights of adolescents and young people under socioeducational measures.
