At this moment of the Círio of Our Lady of Nazaré, when Belém receives thousands of visitors from Brazil and around the world, who come to the capital not only to experience the religious manifestations that involve the period but also to enjoy the culture, gastronomy, urbanism, and other aspects of the city, it is essential to have suitable spaces for different leisure and entertainment proposals.

Porto Futuro, which includes the Museum of the Amazons; the Gastronomy Warehouse; the Bioeconomy Park; and the Caixa Cultural; as well as the Linear Park of Nova Doca are among the recent deliveries from the state government in Belém, which serve as new leisure options for the population to enjoy, especially during this time of year.

Only in the first weekend of operation, more than 6,500 people visited the Museum of the Amazons, which features two ongoing exhibitions: "Amazon", by photographer Sebastião Salgado, showcasing images captured during expeditions in the region, highlighting the grandeur and strength of indigenous peoples; and "Ajurí", a collective show created by the Institute of Development and Management (IDG). In the coming days, until Friday (10), the museum will operate on special hours, from 9 AM to 8 PM. On Saturday (11), it will be open from 12 PM to 4 PM, and on Sunday (12), from 2 PM to 8 PM. On Monday (13), the museum will be closed. Admission is free.

Warehouse 4 of Porto Futuro, where the Gastronomy Warehouse operates, brings together 15 local quick-service food businesses, offering a diverse experience that highlights the flavors of the region. The new space represents a milestone for the appreciation of gastronomy, culture, and the economy of Pará.

The governor of the state, Helder Barbalho, emphasizes that these spaces are important for job and income generation, ensuring access for the population to cultural facilities. “In a state as large as Pará, people often have difficulty experiencing all the gastronomic offerings available here. With the Warehouse, in one single location, visitors can experience the entirety of Pará's cuisine, which is the best in Brazil and the world,” he highlights.

The first Caixa Cultural unit in the Northern region of Brazil is located at Porto Futuro. The new space features a theater with a capacity for 280 people, three exhibition galleries, and workshop rooms, establishing itself as an important center for Amazonian art and culture. Two exhibitions mark the opening: ‘Spirits of the Forest’, showcasing works from the indigenous collective MAHKU (Movement of Huni Kuin Artists), curated by Aline Ambrósio, and ‘Landscapes in Suspension’, which brings together 50 works from the collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Castro Maia Museums.

Nova Doca – Opened to the public last Friday (3), the Linear Park of Nova Doca, located on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco, in the Reduto neighborhood of Belém, offers leisure environments, sports practice, social interaction, and contact with nature. The space features diverse infrastructure, including bike paths, gardens, picnic areas, event spaces, playgrounds with accessible equipment, outdoor gyms, basketball courts, kiosks with restrooms, bike racks, hammocks, pet areas, LED lighting, and sustainability equipment such as solar panels for clean energy generation.

Communication analyst Karinne Homci visited the site over the weekend and approved of the new space. “Belém needed a place like this, for leisure, outdoors. We saw many families with children playing there, which is important for both residents and tourists; everyone can enjoy it. People coming for the Círio will have the opportunity to enjoy the new Doca and should take advantage of it,” she says.
