Children's Day was celebrated with great joy this Thursday (10) at the Pediatric Clinic of the Gaspar Vianna Clinical Hospital (HC) in Belém. The unit, which currently has 11 children hospitalized, organized a special program with games, painting, snacks, and gift distribution organized by the multidisciplinary team.
During the event, the children participated in the activities with enthusiasm, while family members and professionals celebrated the moment of relaxation and affection within the hospital environment. The initiative was attended by Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, who participated in the toy distribution and spoke with patients and their companions.
Vice Governor Hana Ghassan congratulated the work of HC and showed solidarity with the families of the hospitalized children
“I want to congratulate you, thank you for the invitation, because the fact that we are stopping our daily lives to celebrate the lives of these children, in some way, giving comfort to the families and saying ‘we are here, count on us’, is already a form of solidarity. (...) Congratulations to you for the work, we are a reference hospital,” said the vice governor.
Hana Ghassan added: "I want to take this moment to wish a happy Círio, a happy Children's Day, and that we can go through these moments doing what we have best to give," said the vice governor, referring to the importance of bringing joy and warmth to the children and their families, highlighting the humanized role of the hospital.
The story of Luis Fernando, 7 years old, moved everyone present. He is from Juruti, in western Pará, and had been hospitalized for over a month for treatment and follow-up after heart surgery and was discharged right on the day of the party.
“After a month and thirteen days today we are being discharged and to top it off, this beautiful party was organized here with the children and thanks to God, who is so merciful, who gifted us with this day, this whole party, this blessed movement to celebrate Children's Day. And also today is our discharge day to return home. Thank God,” said the mother, Milene da Silva, about the emotion of seeing her son well and being able to take him home on this special day.
Emily, 3 years old, a patient at the HC pediatric clinic, participated in the celebration with her mother, Alediane de Souza
Another young patient who participated in the program was Emily, 3 years old, from Marabá, who is awaiting surgery. While she enjoyed the toys, her mother watched her with affection and emotion. “It was a surprise I didn't expect and I am very grateful and emotional at the same time because, as I said, I didn't expect it and I am very happy to see her happy. So far she has adapted very well and day by day we see a difference, we see distractions and today was an exclusive day for her and all the children. She loved it, adored it, and I am very happy, very happy and emotional,” said Emily's mother, Alediane de Souza, about the importance of this moment to distract and cheer up the children during hospitalization.
The celebration reinforced the commitment of the Gaspar Vianna Clinical Hospital to provide comprehensive care to its patients, combining clinical treatment with the human and emotional support of the children and their families.
