Public Safety System informs about the blockade points during the Círio processions

State and municipal security and traffic agencies will close the main roads and the surrounding areas of the Nazarene processions' route

Along the route of the Nazarene pilgrimages, Detran and partner agencies will manage the flow of pedestrians and vehicles

The Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Public Safety and Social Defense of Pará (Segup), together with state and municipal security and traffic agencies, will close the main roads and the surrounding areas of the Círio de Nazaré 2025 processions, especially on Saturday (11) and Sunday (12), when the Moto Romaria, Trasladação, and Círio take place, respectively.

The action aims to reinforce safety and ensure the mobility of pilgrims and the entire population gathering in the capital of Pará, Belém, during the Círio 2025 program. According to the head of the Secretary of Public Safety and Social Defense (Segup), Ualame Machado, the planning and alignment carried out in advance are essential for the population to be informed and to avoid the roads that will be closed.

“Every year we block the main or cross streets of the main pilgrimages to ensure the smooth flow of the processions and also maintain traffic flow around these locations. Therefore, we are announcing in advance which roads will be blocked, so that the population already knows that it is not possible to transit with vehicles on that road and so that the procession itself can occur normally. With this action, we ensure order, safety, traffic control, and the mobility of everyone participating in the Círio processions and also those who reside and move in these areas,” said Ualame Machado.

The activities of road closures and blockades will involve the action of the Department of Traffic of Pará (Detran), the Municipal Secretary of Security, Public Order, and Urban Mobility (Segbel), the Military Police, the Secretary of Penitentiary Administration (Seap), the Municipal Guards of Belém, Ananindeua, and Marituba, and the Traffic Secretary of Marituba.

On Saturday (11), five roads will have their blockades opened at 12 PM, after the passage of the Moto Romaria, and will be closed again at 2 PM for the Trasladação and Círio processions:

According to the operational coordinator of Detran, Ivan Feitosa, on Saturday, starting at 5 AM, the teams will set up the blockade points to prevent vehicle passage in the area where the Círio operation will take place, and the road will only be released after the end of the Círio on Sunday (12).

“The blockades isolate the area so that the processions can occur as planned, however, to ensure the mobility of those crossing the city, after the Moto Romaria, we will leave some roads open that will be accessible for those on one side of the city, for example, those on Doca de Souza Franco who want to cross to the other side of the city, which are the roads Gaspar Viana, Osvaldo Cruz, Rui Barbosa, Quintino Bocaiúva, and Serzedelo. These five will be released after the Moto Romaria and also closed at 2 PM for the Trasladação,” he informed.

The coordinator also reiterates the inspection that will occur during the Moto Romaria “All motorcycles participating in the procession will have to pass through the Control Arch that will be set up at Av. Marechal Hermes with Doca. Therefore, all motorcycles must pass through this point, where inspections of these vehicles will be carried out, to ensure that only vehicles presenting safety to those participating in the procession are allowed. Another detail to be highlighted in the Moto Romaria procession is the issue of wearing shirts from organized fan clubs of Pará clubs, since last year we have been conducting inspection work, as wearing shirts from organized fan clubs will not be allowed during the Moto Romaria, in order to avoid any incidents.”
