On the eve of the Círio de Nazaré, faith and devotion also manifested in the school environment. This Wednesday, the 8th, the 28th Student Círio of Our Lady of Nazaré was held, gathering 28 public and private schools from the neighborhoods of Jurunas, Cidade Velha, Batista Campos, Campina, and Telégrafo.

The procession left from the State School Professor David Salomão Mufarrej, located in the Cidade Velha neighborhood, and proceeded to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Belém, where a celebration was held led by Monsignor Augustinho Cruz.

Created in 1997 at the Salesian College of Carmo, in partnership with public schools in the area, the Student Círio has become a consolidated tradition and one of the most symbolic moments of faith among students, teachers, and families. The initiative once again brought the school community together in honor of the patroness of the people of Pará, promoting unity, spirituality, and culture.

This year, the organizing committee was formed by teachers from the David Mufarrej State School, in partnership with the Metropolitan Cathedral of Belém, and the Directorate of the Student Círio Project.

Student Jennifer Aragão, from the State Institute of Education of Pará (IEEP), highlighted the emotion of participating in the event. "The Student Círio was a moment of joy and communion among the students. It was a meeting with Our Lady, with our Mother. A moment of harmony and faith," she stated.

Meanwhile, student Guilherme Leão, from the David Salomão Mufarrej School, reinforced the significance of the celebration. "The Student Círio is of utmost importance to our community. It is a manifestation of faith and devotion to Our Lady of Nazaré, which is already part of our culture and school tradition."

In addition to the procession, the event included a series of preparatory actions, such as school pilgrimages, thematic workshops, systematization meetings, and will conclude with the Cultural Showcase of the Student Círio, which takes place on October 16 at 7 PM at the Museum of Sacred Art of the Church of Santo Alexandre, featuring artistic presentations inspired by Marian devotion.
