Three patients from the Public Regional Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, participated this Tuesday (7) in a special outdoor activity, promoted by the multiprofessional team of the unit. The action took users to the city's waterfront to experience a moment of connection with nature and emotional well-being, reinforcing the commitment of the Government of Pará to comprehensive and humanized care for the population.

Accompanied by family members and hospital psychology professionals, the patients were able to leave the hospital environment for a few hours and contemplate the sunset by the river, in an initiative that values not only physical recovery but also the emotional and social strengthening of the users.

Humanization that Transforms

Having been in treatment for acute renal failure at HRPM for six months, 19-year-old student Samyle Silva de Oliveira expressed gratitude for the experience outside the hospital.
“It was very good, it had been a long time since I left the hospital. For us, patients who are here, it is a project that makes all the difference in our daily lives,” she stated.

Despite the long hospitalization, Samyle highlights the welcome and internal activities as fundamental to maintaining emotional balance.
“I have many friends here, everyone treats me well. I like to read, paint, write, and play word search, this helps me deal with anxiety and makes me feel better,” she reported.

Care that Goes Beyond the Clinic

The executive director of HRPM, Jusciely Pereira Machado, emphasizes that initiatives like this have a direct impact on patients' recovery.
“We understand that taking care of health goes far beyond medical procedures. It is also about providing moments that restore self-esteem, hope, and connection with life outside the hospital environment. Initiatives like this have a direct and proportional impact on improving patients' mental health, reinforcing our commitment to the humanization of care and the integral appreciation of each person,” she pointed out.

Nilson da Gama Ataíde, 32, who accompanies his father hospitalized in the unit, also highlighted the importance of the support received.
“It has not been an easy experience living through hospitalization, but with the support of family and Vinícius, the hospital psychologist, we have found strength not to give up, because the will to live is greater,” said the educator.

He also recognized the unit's role as a reference for the region. “The hospital is a reference in Marajó. Actions like this show a human and welcoming perspective, which makes all the difference in patients' recovery,” he concluded.

Reference in Health in Marajó

HRPM, which celebrated 15 years of operation in September, has already surpassed the mark of 3.8 million services provided to the population of the seven municipalities linked to the 8th Regional Health Center (CRS): Breves, Anajás, Bagre, Curralinho, Gurupá, Melgaço, and Portel.

With medium and high complexity care, the hospital is a consolidated reference in the region. From January to September 2025, the unit recorded a user satisfaction rate of 99.4%, a direct reflection of the humanized actions that integrate the health care model in the State.
