Hemopa promotes blood donation campaign among university students in Marambaia
In Belém, this Wednesday (8), the action mobilized the academic community to reinforce the stocks of the state blood network

The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa) held, this Wednesday (8), a blood donation campaign in partnership with Cosmopolitan College, located in the Marambaia neighborhood of Belém.
The initiative mobilized students, teachers, and staff of the educational institution, reinforcing the importance of solidarity to maintain the blood stocks of the state blood network at safe levels.
During the action, the multiprofessional team from Hemopa provided guidance on the donation process, the criteria to become a donor, and the impacts that each blood bag can generate, potentially saving up to four lives. The campaign also aimed to stimulate the culture of voluntary donation and to retain new donors among young university students.

For the social worker of the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad), Vanessa Sena, the partnership with Cosmopolitan College strengthens the mobilization for life. “Teachers and students are committed to encouraging donation, and this directly contributes to maintaining our blood stock,” she emphasized.

Nursing professor at Cosmopolitan College, Edileuza Nunes Lima, highlighted the engagement of the academic community. “We are in the third campaign of the institution, mobilizing students as organizers and also as donors. This is our social commitment and responsibility for maintaining blood banks,” she stated.

Nursing student Fernanda Maia also celebrated the participation. “It is a great joy to contribute to something so important, especially working in the health field, where I closely observe the impact of donation. Seeing the mobilization within the college and the involvement of students is inspiring. Donating blood is an act of love and solidarity,” she said.
The partnership is part of Hemopa's strategy to decentralize external collections, bringing services closer to the community and expanding donor recruitment in different areas of the capital and the countryside.
