On this occasion, Fapespa will announce its general guidelines for supporting the participation of researchers from Pará

The Amazon Foundation for Support of Studies and Research (Fapespa) will hold a Workshop next Thursday (9) to announce international scientific cooperation opportunities through the Horizon Europe Program, the largest research and innovation funding program of the European Union. The event will take place at 9 am, in the auditorium of the rectorate of the State University of Pará (Uepa), at the Center for Social Sciences and Education campus, located at Rua do Una, 156, between Djalma Dutra and José Pio, in the Telégrafo neighborhood.

Targeted at researchers and leaders of the Science, Technology and Innovation Institutes (ICTs) in Pará, the meeting will feature the presence of the Science, Technology and Innovation (CTI) Policy Officer of the European Union Delegation in Brazil, Dhallys Mota, who will present the main objectives, thematic areas, and participation mechanisms of Horizon Europe, highlighting the program's platform and strategies to find the best opportunities for each research area. According to the International Affairs Coordinator of Fapespa, Marcos Yuri Nascimento, the Officer will bring "details on how to apply, how to view, and how to search for the most important aspects within each researcher’s specific area."

Scientific Director of Fapespa, Deyvison Medrado

Fapespa will also announce its general guidelines for supporting the participation of researchers from Pará, including eligibility criteria, funding modalities, and internationalization strategies. "Fapespa reaffirms its commitment to the internationalization of science produced in Pará and to strengthening research aimed at the major Amazonian challenges. The Horizon Europe Program is a strategic gateway for our researchers to access global networks of excellence, promote high-impact scientific collaborations, and contribute innovative solutions for sustainability, bioeconomy, biotechnology, and the development of our region. Strengthening this international insertion is essential to position the Amazon as a protagonist in the global science, technology, and innovation landscape," explains Fapespa's scientific director, Deyvison Medrado.

According to the Scientific Directorate of the Foundation, the event represents a strategic opportunity to expand the insertion of Pará's research in the international arena and strengthen partnerships with European institutions.

The program - Horizon Europe is the main funding program of the European Union for research and innovation. The program, open to international cooperation, aims to help strengthen the European knowledge base through frontier research, stimulate innovations, and support the development and demonstration of innovative solutions, as well as help restore industry and the economy.
