The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) and the State Secretariat for the Environment and Sustainability (Semas) held a technical alignment meeting on Monday (6) regarding the environmental licensing of the Castanhal Industrial Condominium, a project led by Codec, with a technical study prepared by Hidrosam Ltda.

The main focus of the meeting was the analysis and update of the Environmental Control Report (RCA) and the Environmental Control Plan (PCA) of the condominium, fundamental steps for obtaining the Preliminary License (LP) and Installation License (LI).

The meeting continues the schedule initiated on September 23, when the service order for the preparation of environmental studies for the Castanhal Industrial Condominium was officially issued. The current stage represents the technical advancement of the process, with the update of reports and alignment of requirements with Semas, reinforcing the commitment of the Government of Pará to environmental regularization and the responsible implementation of new industrial enterprises.

During the meeting, sanitary and environmental engineer Haroldo Picanço, director of Hidrosam, accompanied the technical team responsible for the studies. The biologist on the team presented aerial images captured by drones and field records, detailing the area of the project, its environmental characteristics, surrounding areas, and neighborhood. The information will support the update of the RCA and the definition of the next steps in the licensing process.

The alignment is part of a continuous process of integrated environmental management conducted by Codec in partnership with Semas, covering both new projects in the implementation phase, such as Castanhal, and existing industrial districts. The goal is to strengthen technical monitoring and environmental regularization of all hubs under the management of the Company.

From Codec, the technical director Ruy Klautau, the director of Investment Attraction and Business Manoel Ibiapina, and environmental engineer Amanda Karolina dos Santos participated. From Semas, the director of Environmental Licensing Marcelo Moreno and licensing team technicians were present.

Among the discussions, technical adjustments and requests from Codec to Semas were addressed to expedite the licensing process, including the update of the RCA and the Company's commitment to eliminate pending environmental conditions. It was also emphasized that all industrial districts in the State have sanitation and industrial wastewater systems, highlighting Codec's commitment to sustainability and the mitigation of environmental impacts.

After the agenda dedicated to Castanhal, the teams also advanced discussions on other industrial hubs, such as the Export Processing Zone (ZPE) of Barcarena, which has an exemption from tubular well granting, and the Operation Licenses (LO) of the Industrial Districts of Ananindeua and Icoaraci, currently undergoing updates and technical monitoring with Semas.

The dialogue between the institutions reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to responsible environmental planning and sustainable economic development, ensuring that the State's structuring projects advance in accordance with legal and environmental parameters.
