The Deputy Secretary of Environmental Management and Regularity of the Secretariat of Environment, Climate and Sustainability of Pará (Semas), Rodolpho Zahluth Bastos, signed a Cooperation Agreement on Wednesday (1st) with the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (CETESB), represented by the CEO, Thomaz Toledo, with the aim of strengthening control, protection, and environmental conservation, with an emphasis on the management and licensing of activities and enterprises.

The signing took place during the Environmental Leaders of the Energy Sector (LASE) 2025 event, held in São Paulo (SP), and was attended by the Deputy Secretary of Economic Development, Mining and Energy of Pará, Carlos Ledo.

Among the main points of the document are the technical exchange between the institutions, professional training programs in areas such as reverse logistics and environmental monitoring, as well as the development of joint work plans to enhance the technical debate on licensing and sharing of experiences. The agreement also provides for a comprehensive training program in various areas, such as risk management and water quality monitoring.

According to Rodolpho Zahluth Bastos, the partnership with CETESB contributes to the improvement of licensing and inspection in Pará. "Cooperation with CETESB, a national and international reference in environmental management, will allow the State to strengthen cooperative technical dialogue and exchange experiences that enhance good environmental management practices among different teams of analysts. It is a cooperation for the protection of the environment, a gain for all," he stated.

For the CEO of CETESB, Thomaz Toledo, the cooperation expands the application of good practices among states. "Environmental licensing is the best tool to promote sustainable development. The partnership with Pará strengthens the adoption of effective environmental protection practices," he highlighted.
