Couple arrested for qualified theft, threats, and psychological violence against a woman
Operation 'End of Farce', in Belém, executed two arrest warrants

On this Friday (3), the Civil Police of Pará, through the São Brás Section, launched the operation "End of Farce", and two arrest warrants were executed for qualified theft by fraud, psychological violence against a woman, and threats.
According to the Civil Police, the investigation was initiated regarding a crime known as "paco's tale" against an elderly woman. The victim was approached by the suspects who pretended to be homeless people asking for help at the exit of a bank agency. The woman ended up having a mobile phone and a sum of money stolen.
According to Tarsio Martins, the delegate who coordinated the operation, the victim's son discovered suspicious movements in his mother's bank account. "The situation indicated that the suspects were using the victim's personal data to make transfers and loans. In total, more than R$ 16,000 were withdrawn from two accounts, aside from the amount initially stolen," he explained.
After the victim returned to the police unit to report the amounts withdrawn from the account, the elderly woman and her family began to receive threats, as the suspects knew details such as the children's routine and details of the residence, which caused fear in the family.
As the investigations progressed, the three accused were identified, with two of them having a family relationship with the victim. Two suspects were arrested on the morning of this Thursday, and they remain detained for the necessary procedures and will be at the disposal of Justice. Efforts are ongoing to locate the third involved.
