In Marabá, Pró-Mulher Pará strengthens the fight against violence against women by training professionals
The training brought together agents from the Military Police, Fire Department, Municipal Guard of Marabá, State and Municipal education managers, Women's Secretariat, and the Stronger School program
The Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), through the Directorate of Public Security Policies and Social Prevention (DPS), conducted a training for security agents and the protection network on combating violence against women in the school environment aimed at public security servers in the municipality of Marabá, in the southeast of the State, through the Pró-Mulher Pará program, aiming to strengthen the protection network for women in vulnerable situations. The program was held over two days, on Monday (29) and Tuesday (30), at the Usina da Paz in Marabá.
In total, the program brought together 77 servers over the 2 days of training and alignments, articulating discussions on humanized reception and support tools for victims in situations of violence in the school environment and in the municipality, promoting integration between the security forces and educational agents present, through the exchange of knowledge and experiences in their respective areas of action.
For Ualame Machado, head of Segup, the training and revisitation for monitoring the actions of the program reinforces the commitment of the security system to crime prevention and the humanization of care for victims in vulnerable situations.
“Considering all the complexity that involves violence against women, it is essential to understand that specialized care is fundamental both in prevention and in repression of occurrences involving women. Therefore, in addition to expanding the program's actions in various regions of the state, we are returning to municipalities that already have the actions in place to evaluate progress and also train more agents and the entire protection network, in order to ensure more qualified care for victims,” stated Ualame Machado.
Launched in 2022, Pró-Mulher Pará aims to guarantee protection and guidance for women victims of domestic violence, in addition to repressing crime.
For Sharon, Sergeant of the Military Fire Department, the lectures provided the opportunity to understand how the cycle of violence suffered by women works and the importance of state intervention to ensure proper care for victims.
“The Revisitation of the Pró-Mulher Team provided us with an enhancement on domestic violence and its various forms, in addition to the excellent performance of the program in the State of Pará. In this way, I was able to deepen my understanding of the cycle of violence, its impacts on the lives of victims, and the importance of reception.
The activities in Marabá concluded last Tuesday, the 30th, with a final alignment meeting on the functioning of the program that was implemented in the municipality in April 2022, with the presence of servers from public security agencies in the municipality that act in security actions.
