Operation 'Closed Siege' arrests man and seizes money in Castanhal
In addition to being identified as one of the leaders of a criminal organization, the suspect was caught with drugs and R$ 2,000 in cash

On this Tuesday (30), the Civil Police of the State of Pará, through the 12th Urban Section of Castanhal and a joint operation with the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (FICCO/PA), launched the "Closed Siege Operation," aimed at confronting organized crime in the region. The action resulted in the arrest of a man, suspected of holding a leadership position in a criminal faction in the municipality of Terra Alta, in northeastern Pará.
The arrest took place in Castanhal, when the suspect was caught handling a block of material resembling marijuana to deliver to third parties. In addition to the drugs, the amount of R$ 2,000 was seized in cash, originating from illegal activity.

“During the action, the suspect attempted to flee, running through the backyard of the residence and climbing over a barbed wire fence, but was eventually caught and restrained by the police team,” explained Thiago Dias, regional superintendent of the Salgado Zone.
In addition to other criminal records, the suspect also had an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Execution Court of the Metropolitan Region of Belém, due to convictions for drug trafficking and robbery.
According to the superintendent, the action reinforces the ongoing work done by Pará's public security in combating crime. “With this integrated action, the Civil Police of Pará, together with FICCO, reaffirms its commitment to combating criminal organizations and preserving public order throughout the State,” added the delegate.
