State and City Hall carry out cleaning and maintenance services in neighborhoods of Belém
The joint action includes mowing, sweeping, debris collection, and cleaning of inspection wells, as well as the restoration of railings and metal defenses

The Government of Pará, in partnership with the City Hall of Belém, started on the morning of this Monday (29) various urban maintenance actions in neighborhoods of the capital. The services aim to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces, and include mowing, sweeping, debris collection, and cleaning of inspection wells.
“We are starting this urban maintenance program in Belém with about 600 workers, operating simultaneously in six service fronts across various neighborhoods of our capital. We will continue this joint work with the City Hall of Belém over the next 60 days, ensuring the city is increasingly clean and welcoming for the daily lives of the population, and also aiming for major events, such as the Círio and the year-end festivities,” informed the Secretary of State for Public Works, Ruy Cabral.

In this first stage, the maintenance actions are taking place with six teams of 100 workers on the avenues Almirante Barroso, Júlio César, Dr. Freitas, Augusto Montenegro, Duque de Caxias, and Visconde de Souza Franco. The initiative will reach 30 neighborhoods, including Guamá, Jurunas, Cremação, and Tapanã.

Approval - The self-employed Ana Farias, 51 years old, evaluated the initiative that unites the State and Municipality to promote well-being, safety, and quality of life for the population. “It is important because the city becomes more organized. The street gains a different aspect with the cleaning, scraping of the ditch, which sometimes gets clogged. Everything is clean, the population just needs to maintain it. It’s highly approved!” said Ana Farias, who works on Avenida Visconde de Souza Franco (Doca).
The action by Seop and the Municipal Secretary of Urban Maintenance and Conservation (Sezel) also includes six machines and 30 trucks for scraping services; mechanical mowing; painting; cleaning and unclogging spaces with hydro jetting; recovery of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and galleries, and restoration of railings and metal defenses.
