Semas presents sustainable services and actions at the Parauapebas Agricultural Fair
The Secretary of Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) organized a diverse program with debates and projects at the institutional booth

The State Secretary of Environment, Climate and Sustainability participated, from September 23 to 27, in the Parauapebas Agricultural Fair (FAP), in the southeastern state. Semas set up a booth that attracted producers, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives interested in solutions that reconcile production and environmental preservation.
“Semas's presence at FAP is an opportunity to show that sustainability is a way to strengthen rural production, open markets, and value the Amazon territory. Our goal is to bring producers, managers, and society closer to environmental policies, showing that development and conservation go hand in hand and are essential to face the climate challenges that are already part of our reality,” highlighted Semas's Climate Change Director, Indara Aguilar.

The program was diverse and included a fair of bioeconomy products, technical debates, and the offering of services such as analysis of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR), and guidance on the Environmental Recovery Program (PRA). There was also the issuance of water resource permits, in addition to the promotion of the Sustainable Territory Program (PTS) and the Sustainable Livestock Program, which integrates initiatives such as the Green Offices (EVS) and the commercial unlocking engagement strategy (AGNI).
Among the highlighted topics, there were debates on sustainable rural development, access to markets for livestock, and opportunities related to Payment for Environmental Services (PSA) policies. All dialogues reinforced the need to integrate productive practices with environmental conservation.

For entrepreneur Tainara Vasconcelos, founder of Dinam, a bioindustry that works in the sustainable cultivation of black pepper in Parauapebas, the initiative highlights the importance of Semas's approach to local producers. “Today we are at the Agricultural Fair, at the Semas booth, where it is an excellent opportunity to showcase our work, show our pepper, and tell a little about the impact we have here in the territory. This is important because it shows that the State is increasingly reaching the interior, bringing business, sustainability, and numerous programs and initiatives that they have supported to enhance the impact here in the Amazon.”
The Semas space also received the municipal secretaries of Environment and Agriculture from Parauapebas, who participated in a debate moderated by Fernanda Costa, coordinator of the Semas Regional Nucleus in Marabá. They highlighted advances in public management essential for the environmental regularization of enterprises, but emphasized the need for greater integration between the State and municipalities to face the challenges still present, always for the benefit of society and the Pará market.

Another remarkable moment was the roundtable that included the presence of state deputy Aveilton Souza, Lorena Barata representing the NGO AGNI, and Paulo Costa from the Produzindo Certo initiative. Participants emphasized the relevance of communication and information as means to bring solutions to producers and demonstrate the benefits of regularization. They also highlighted the importance of creating incentives that motivate producers themselves to become advocates for good environmental practices, stimulating community engagement for sustainability.

Through participation in fairs like this, Semas reinforced its role as a facilitator of public environmental policies aimed at sustainable development, showing that dialogue with different sectors is essential to build solutions that unite production, conservation, and quality of life in the Amazon.
