State Government delivers section of PA-253, in Vila Perseverança, in the municipality of São Domingos do Capim
With this new phase, the work reaches 41 km completed on PA-253 and continues, benefiting municipalities such as Irituia, São Miguel do Guamá, and Mãe do Rio. Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan participated in the delivery.

The government of Pará delivered, this Friday (26), another paved section of PA-253, on the stretch that connects BR-010 to PA-127, in Vila Perseverança, municipality of São Domingos do Capim. In total, the work has already reached 41 km completed and will directly benefit more than 32,000 people.
Governor Helder Barbalho highlighted the positive impact of the new PA-253 on the lives of the population living in the region. "This road benefits not only São Domingos do Capim but integrates the region. It is a road that directly connects with the municipality of São Domingos, but also connects with Irituia, São Miguel do Guamá, and the municipality of Mãe do Rio. It integrates this entire region to build a new route of development. If before, the route of development was only Belém-Brasília, now we have this integration of the two PAs to build a new path of progress and development for this region," he emphasized.

The Vice Governor of the State, Hana Ghassan, pointed out that PA-253 is the result of a joint effort. "It is a team effort. No one does anything alone. We have the team from the state government and we also have a team of mayors and deputies who help us daily with this mission of coordinating and leading a grand state like Pará. And a road like this is a sign of prosperity. For every family, and even for those who do not use the road, those who do not have a car, it also means prosperity because freight becomes cheaper. The dust is gone, the mud is gone. Products can arrive faster and at a lower price. So, everyone benefits from a new road," she emphasized.
With a length of 15.29 km, the section delivered this Friday (26) received earthworks, paving, base and sub-base, shoulder, and signaling services. The investment was R$ 29.1 million, sourced from the State Treasury, and generated 130 direct jobs and 30 indirect jobs.

“The paving of PA-253 guarantees more mobility for the population and improves the flow of agricultural production in the region, especially for crops like palm oil, açaí, and flour,” stated the Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Adler Silveira. The highway also strengthens integration between the municipalities of Irituia, São Miguel do Guamá, Mãe do Rio, Aurora do Pará, and Concórdia do Pará.

For those living around the new road, the work represents an improvement in quality of life. "We had a lot of difficulty with transportation here, in fact, to travel, we spent an entire day just to catch a car. Now everything has changed, it has improved a lot, it is getting better and better after this PA," said Benedito Batista, 57, a resident of the region for 40 years.

Street vendor Waldeir Maciel, 47, travels through several municipalities in Pará working with his sales and is grateful for the improvements. "Before, it was full of potholes and gravel, it was very bad to pass through here with a truck. Now it has greatly improved for everyone here, it has changed the situation for the entire population here," he commented.
In addition to the section in São Domingos do Capim, works are ongoing in Capitão Poço and Santa Luzia do Pará, with over 46 kilometers of paving in progress, totaling 113 kilometers of improvements planned for the highway.
